Evolution Gaming Growing Thanks to World Cup, New Jersey

Gambling software and live online casino giant Evolution Gaming recently released its interim finance report which showed promising growth and reiterated plans for continued New Jersey expansion.

The report, which encompassed January through June of this year, showed dramatic surges in revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. Operating revenue reached EUR 59.3 million representing a 40 percent increase while EBITDA reached EUR 26.2 million representing a 36 percent increase.

Progress in its New Jersey endeavors was a major factor to the overall growth of the company as it signed agreements with Resorts Casino Hotel, the recently opened Ocean Resort Casino and 888.

Carlesund Pleased With Report

The release of the results prompted a 10% increase in the company’s share price which would only serve as more welcome news to chief executive Martin Carlesund.

Carlesund credited a heavy focus on the recently completed World Cup for the spike in customer activity but that the demand for live tables had remained strong after the event ended.

“As this report is being published, the FIFA World Cup has just ended – and the second quarter was largely characterised by the preparations for this major sporting event, with many new tables in our studios, followed by a high level of activity as the tournament began. We see continued favourable demand for tables even after the World Cup, and expect to have a total of more than 500 in operation at the end of the year. Similar to our historical pattern, we are leveraging our size and utilising our expanded resources for optimum efficiency, with each new table being optimised and delivering more over time.”

Studio To Broadcast Live Content

Aside from the World Cup, Carlesund gave credit to progress with the New Jersey initiative for the positive numbers and promising outlook for future reports.

A studio in which live table games with dealers will be broadcast from is currently in the works in New Jersey and will reportedly go live by the end of Quarter 3. According to Carlesund it will at first offer a limited number of tables and options but it will continue to grow as demand is expected to increase.

“The studio is being built to serve several operators and will initially offer 10 tables with Live American Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Slingshot Auto Roulette. More games and tables will then be released gradually, including dedicated tables for specific operators. The studio in New Jersey is expected to go live in the third quarter this year.”

Garden State Ripe For Growth

As a leader in live casino services since 2006, Evolution Gaming has revolutionized internet casinos and online gambling features. The extensive list of major gaming giants that partner with Evolution include the likes of William Hill, Paddy Power Casino and 888casino.

Live Roulette is the big ticket thus far but with continued expansion into a gambling-hungry American market more and more types of games are ripe to be developed as the year closes out. For Carlesund the future is definitely bright and ripe for growth for Evolution in in the Garden State.

“With half of 2018 behind us, I can state that we are continuing to deliver on our ongoing mission to continuously extend the gap between us and our competitors. Evolution’s operations are becoming increasingly global, with over ten years’ experience of delivering the best live casino services to both pure online operators and land-based casinos in a growing number of markets. I and all of Evolution’s employees look forward to the second half of the year, in which we will continue to create fantastic Live Casino experiences, both for our customers and their end users.”
