Playtech Developing Poker-style Game with Age of Gods Brand

Software supplier Playtech, one of the world’s largest providers and industry leaders in gambling entertainment, has recently announced an exciting new project that will expand one of its most beloved game brands.

The wildly popular Age of the Gods collection of games has thus far gone without a poker game, but that will soon not be the case as the company is in the process of developing a game that will no doubt leave online Twister poker fans thrilled.

Company Building Out Already Household Name

Age of the Gods is already well represented in the digital online gambling sphere by well-known slots and other table games, but the transition to poker will no doubt open a whole new audience to the visually stunning and exciting brand.

With its classic Greek mythological theme and bright color scheme, the brand has become a household name to online gamblers and it will look to continue to grow out its noticeability with this move.

Slot games like Age of the God: Fate Sisters, Age of the Gods: Goddess of Wisdom and Age of the Gods: King of Olympus have thrilled fans since they all launched. But they didn't stop with just slots, Playtech recently produced an online roulette version of the game which has opened an exciting new arena.

Akad Shares High Hopes for New Game

Playtech COO Shimon Akad has said that the popular brand has been a major factor in the company’s growth recently and given out some exciting jackpots to players:

“Age of the Gods has been a phenomenal success in casinos across the industry and continues to drive incredible growth for Playtech and our valued partners.”

The game is three-player and features a jackpot dependent on a multiple of up to 100x the buy in. It’s expected to provide a faster and more intense version of poker that will suit the brand and those familiar with it well. Akad said the expansion of the Age of Gods suite will be focused on delivering the same excitement and high-quality visuals the series is known for.

“We're delighted to bring our hugely popular Age of the Gods brand to the world of Twister Poker. Our development team has done an exceptional job of recreating the look and feel of the series, combining striking graphics with compelling gameplay. Twister has proved to be a highly popular Poker variant, and we're confident that fans of both the concept and the Age of the Gods brand will be very excited by the new game.”

Recent Acquisition Boosting Playtech

Playtech recently saw its value leap as it purchased competing Italian software company Snaitech. Snaitech earned €136 million on about €846 million in revenue and was bought by Playtech for essentially a year’s worth of that revenue at €846m.

Mor Weizer, chief executive officer of Playtech, explained how the procuring of one of the software providers biggest rivals means big things for the company in the future.

“The acquisition of Snaitech represents the continuation of our strategy to invest in leading retail brands in fast growing, regulated markets. The acquisition delivers the board's strategic objective to improve the quality and diversification of group revenue, whilst delivering exposure to high growth end markets, by utilising the strength of Playtech's balance sheet.”

The company also announced donations today in support of Barbuda relief in the wake of Hurricane Irma. A check for $25,000 was granted to Project Home which supplies furniture equipment to homes and family’s affected by the storm.
