Unibet has been online since 1997 and in that time have been moulded into one of the leading online betting brands in the industry. The company may come from a Scandinavian background, but they are far from limited to just this, offering their services in over 100 countries worldwide.
The platform grew so much that they are now known as the Kindred Group, with it including a wide range of gambling sites, from sports to casino and bingo to poker. They turnover £750 million a year and have over 1,400 employees across the company.
Like most of the bigger betting brands, Unibet has an extensive number of companies that they work with in terms of sponsorship. These include the likes of Preston North End FC, Middlesbrough FC, Leeds United FC, Derby County FC and Southampton FC. They also sponsor several sporting events, such as the Premier League of Darts and the Qatar Festival at Goodwood Racecourse.

New accounts to Unibet will be able to get a risk-free bet worth up to £40. The process is a simple one; all you need to do it make sure your first bet is £10 or more and at odds of 1.40 or greater and if that bet loses, Unibet will refund your stake up to a maximum of £40.
The money is paid back into your account as bonus money and then you need to wager through three times before you can withdraw. Only bets made at odds of 1.40 or greater will qualify and accumulator bets need to have each selection priced at 1.40 or greater as well. You have 7 days to clear the bonus money.
On top of all this, you also get a £10 casino bonus applied to your account. You need to wager through this amount 35 times before you can withdraw it. Again, you have 7 days to complete this.

The promotions section at Unibet is one that could be a feature of its own. There are dozens to choose from and the best place to see what's taking place each day is by visiting the promotions section on site.
Stars and Stripes Jackpot – Place a £5 bet on any MLB, NBA, NFL or NHL games and be entered into Unibet's £5,000 prize draw.
Multi Boost – Get up to 15% extra on your accumulator bets.
Extra Place Specials – An extra place paid on selected horse races throughout the week.
In-play Free Bet Club – Place 5 or more £10 bets on an in-play market each week and get a free £10 bet each week.
Both the sports and market coverage at Unibet is crazy-good. They include pretty much anything and everything, with some of the more unique ones being chess, bandy, surfing and squash. TV / Novelty markets are available at Unibet too, as is WWE betting.
The number of markets within the sports is immense as well. But what did jump out at us was the coverage for US-based sports. Ice hockey, basketball and American football each had over 100 events available, with each event averaging over 100 markets, which will be one of the biggest market coverages for these sports in the industry.
Unibet are much improved when it comes to their latest pricing structure. We will admit that when we have tested them in years gone by, they have sometimes struggled. But now they are right up there with the best. We found very few prices from the bets that we tested that weren't equal or better to industry standard.
Live streaming is the most obvious place to start with the features section at Unibet. They were one of the first to offer this platform and link it to their betting section, so it shouldn't be too surprising to see that they have a great set up for their streaming channel.
They impressively cover a wide range of sports on the platform and with each, they are often inclusive of high-profile matches. For example, there is a strong coverage of football, with some of the best leagues in Europe on board, such as Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and a host of international matches. Where it excels though is the random games that aren't on TV anywhere in the world, which is why we love it.
Statistics are a huge part of the site and their partnership with Sports Radar means that they have a comprehensive stats section that is incorporating of the entire site. There are dozens of sports to choose from here and whilst some are better than others, overall it proves to be a really important betting tool that all bookmakers should have.
If you are new to betting, then the betting guide at Unibet should be somewhere that you take a look at it. It works through all the sports that they offer on-site, with a breakdown of the markets and then how bets would affect these markets. They go into a good level of detail as well, making them a valuable resource if you're just getting started or want to start betting on an unfamiliar sport.
The horse racing section is probably the best thing about the entire bookmaker. They have a dedicated section for this, with the layout tweaked so that it's easier to use. The range of races that they cover is insane, with the UK and Ireland having a strong showing, but also races from India, South Africa, United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Australia New Zealand and Korea. If ever there was something that underlined how multicultural Unibet are, this is it!
A lot of these races – even the international ones – are linked up to the live streaming channel. Although, whilst the main channel is free to funded accounts, you will need to have placed a bet on the race you want to watch before you can stream it.
The final part for horse racing is that they are neatly linked in with the Racing Post. This gives a massive range of info on each race including how it might run, the weather forecast, the going and then a breakdown of each horse in the race as to how they are likely going to travel.
If you're a horse racing fan, Unibet is a must-try!
The final part that we wanted to touch on was their betting blog. It's a hive of activity here and with it you get plenty of daily articles across a huge range of sports. What's good about the articles is that they are written by folk who know their craft and they offer betting advice from people within each sport. If you're not looking to bet, it makes better reading that 95% of the back pages of any tabloid newspaper!
Unibet offers a complete range of banking methods and is right in line with what you would expect from one of the biggest bookmakers on the planet. Debit cards can be used, but e-wallets like Skrill, Neteller and Paypal are also accepted, as well as Apple Pay.
Deposits start from just £5 and incur no fees for any of the methods. Withdrawals start from as little as £10 and you must withdraw back to the method that you used to deposit. If this is not possible (expired card, closed account etc.) then you will need to contact customer support to add a new method.
Looks and design in the betting industry are always subjective. What works for one, might not another. We've always been big fans of the Unibet site. The green and white have always been a great (and now synonymous) colour combination and makes the bookmaker standout.
It's a fairly common setup for desktop and we loved the fact that has several quick links for “popular” betting markets. This tied in with the sticky search bar that stays with you on all pages on the site, making it so simple to use and imperative for speedy navigation.
The great design continues on the betting app as well, which can be accessed on the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. The app looks great, but unfortunately, it's not perfect and we found that it can be susceptible to crashing, which is very frustrating. You can use fingerprint ID to log in though, which is a positive.
You can register via the app or the bookmaker at Unibet and to set things away, just click the “join” button in the top right-hand corner.
Once you've done this, the first thing that you need to confirm is if you want to opt in to the welcome offer (above) or not. It gives a full rundown of the T's and C's here as well in case you want to check things over.
You then need to add in your name, email and date of birth. Next, work through your username, password and other info like this. That is all you need to do for this section. As has become customary for betting sites, you will now need to send in verification documents that allow you to deposit on site.
Verification includes proof of ID (Passport, Driver's License etc.) and proof of address (utility bill etc.). However, if you are already registered with Gamcare, then you won't need to send them in again as they will be able to cross-check them on the system.
The customer support is pretty good and with it you get a good range of contact options. It's worth noting that if you logged into your account when you contact them, they will likely be able to deal with your issue quicker. You can get in touch via phone, email or Live Chat.
Responsible Gambling is clearly high priority on-site, and you can't even access the bookmaker without verifying your account now. Unibet has a host of features in place that allows punters to keep their accounts in check. Some of these include play limits, time out, self-exclusion and betting limits.
Not only do they offer help like this, but they also help with aftercare as well. They work closely with Gamcare, BeGambleAware, Gambling Therapy and Gamblers Anonymous.
Unibet is, without doubt, one of the best in the business right now. From a betting perspective, their stock has never been higher, and few are able to match the levels of features and promotions that Unibet do. One of the biggest compliments that we can pay them is that there is very little not to like. The buggy betting app is the only issues, but even this will be a relatively easy fix.
Overall, possibly one of the most underrated bookmakers in the industry right now and making all the right noises to be one of the best.
