Moises Caicedo Next Club Odds: Arsenal Favourites As They Bid For Brighton Star

With the transfer window set to close on Tuesday, January 31, betting sites anticipate a frantic few days as Premier League clubs attempt to complete more deals before the deadline.
One man who has been linked with a move away from his current employers is Moises Caicedo.
Brighton & Hove Albion are desperate to keep hold of the Ecuador international for a little while longer, but every player has his price, and the midfielder is not exactly short of suitors.
You can find the latest transfer odds below, after which we will take a look at Caicedo’s situation.
Extended Brighton Stay Most Likely Outcome
With just a couple of days in the transfer window remaining, football betting sites understandably reckon Caicedo will remain a Brighton player until the summer at the earliest - hence odds as short as 4/7.
The Ecuadorian has marked himself out as one of the best young players in the Premier League, and he will almost certainly move to a club higher up the food chain at some point in the future.
But were they to sell him now, Brighton would have very little time to replace one of their key men and they have steadfastly rejected every offer for Caicedo so far this month.
Reports suggest the Seagulls are unwilling to do business this month for anything less than £100m, a price tag which may put Caicedo’s suitors off.
Arsenal Ready To Enter Market For A Midfielder
“We need some more cover in midfield ideally if we can,” Mikel Arteta replied when asked about his January targets last Wednesday. “In this market it’s pretty complicated to do that.
“The most important thing is that we get the performances and the time on the pitch that we need with the players we have available today that are already really good.”
By the sounds of it, the Arsenal boss is looking to acquire competition for Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey, a role which could appeal to Caicedo as the Gunners battle for the title.
Arsenal also appear ready to splash out a huge sum for Caicedo, as they reportedly made a second offer of £70m to the Seagulls for the Ecuadorian at the weekend.
Having been out at odds of 8/1 just last week, Betfair have now slashed Caicedo into just 6/4 to move to the Emirates Stadium before the deadline passes on Tuesday night.
Chelsea Circling As Potters Seeks More Additions
Chelsea have significantly bolstered their attack so far this month, adding Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and David Datro Fofana to a squad which was not exactly lacking options at the top of the pitch.
Next on Graham Potter’s wish list is another midfielder or two. Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are both out of contract in the summer, potentially leaving Chelsea short in the engine room.
The Blues have reportedly identified Caicedo as one of their top targets for the position, and they are priced at 5/1 with Paddy Power to land the Brighton star.
However, they are also keeping tabs on West Ham United’s Declan Rice and Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez, and could put off a move for any of the trio until the end of the campaign.
Liverpool And Newcastle Could Yet Enter Race
Liverpool and Newcastle are also thought to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the centre of the park.
Jamie Carragher has argued that Liverpool’s transfer plans should include at least three new midfielders ahead of next season, and Caicedo would provide the energy and dynamism that is sorely lacking in Jurgen Klopp’s team at present.
However, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool will enter the market for Caicedo at this late stage of the January window, which is why they are only given a 12/1 shot of signing him before February 1.
Newcastle have been linked with the likes of Youri Tielemans and Conor Gallagher in recent weeks, but Caicedo will probably be out of reach for them too.
The Magpies are 33/1 in this market, although that price could shorten when attention turns to the summer window.
Manchester United Among The Outsiders At Present
Manchester United had the opportunity to sign Caicedo from Independiente del Valle for just £4.5m in 2021, but they ultimately backed out of a deal due to concerns over agent fees.
That is one decision the club no doubt regrets today. Still, Manchester United do not look set to launch another attempt to sign the 21-year-old.
They added midfield duo Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to their ranks last summer and are therefore focusing their attention elsewhere.
Man Utd, available at 33/1 with betting apps, are particularly unlikely to sign Caicedo in the coming days - their business for January is almost certainly done.
Tottenham Hotspur (66/1) are also included in the market, but the club are highly unlikely to submit an offer for the Brighton man.
