Moises Caicedo Next Club Odds: Arsenal Favourites As They Bid For Brighton Star

Moises Caicedo has been one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League this season, and betting sites reckon he could be on the move in the summer.

The Ecuador international tried to force through a move to Arsenal in the winter window, but Brighton & Hove Albion dug deep and kept hold of one of their most important players.

The episode ended with Caicedo signing a new contract, in theory committing his future to the Seagulls until 2027.

However, several clubs may look to test Albion’s resolve ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

So, where might Caicedo be plying his trade at the beginning of next season? You can find the latest odds below, after which we consider his case in more detail.

Arsenal Ready To Renew Interest In Ecuadorian

Arsenal’s highest offer for Caicedo in January was worth £70m, but even then Brighton did not consider cashing in on the former Independiente del Valle man.

The Gunners could go back in for the 21-year-old in the summer, as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League next season.

The north Londoners are the 4/1 favourites with football betting sites to land Caicedo, who also impressed at the World Cup in Qatar.

Jorginho was more of a stop-gap purchase at the beginning of the year, and the addition of another younger midfielder would not go amiss.

Much could depend on whether other clubs enter the race though, and Arsenal may lose out if a bidding war breaks out.

Chelsea Could Be In Store For Another Eventful Summer

Chelsea have spent close to £600m on new signings this season, yet this has been their worst campaign in living memory.

After suffering defeat by Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday, the Blues have nothing left to play for this campaign. They might even finish in the bottom half of the Premier League.

Splashing huge amounts of cash has not worked, but that does not necessarily mean Chelsea will keep their powder dry this summer.

The next Chelsea manager will want to be backed in the transfer market, with a new midfielder potentially on his wish list.

At a price of 6/1, Chelsea are the second-favourites to acquire Caicedo after the end of the current season.

Manchester United’s Priorities Lie Elsewhere

Man Utd signed Christian Eriksen and Casemiro last summer, and the two midfielders have immediately become integral parts of Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Scott McTominay and Fred have also done a decent job when asked to stand in, while the loanee Marcel Sabitzer could make his move permanent ahead of next term.

Erik ten Hag

United’s main priority when the transfer market reopens for business will be the signing of a new centre-forward.

Neither Anthony Martial nor Wout Weghorst has convinced since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, and United may well spend most of their kitty on a striker.

With that in mind, it feels about right that United are priced at just 10/1 with Parimatch to sign Caicedo, who is unlikely to be a top target at Old Trafford.

Liverpool On Lookout For New Midfielders

Liverpool have pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham, who is one of the most in-demand players on the planet right now.

The Reds concluded that the England international is too expensive, and they believe they will be better off by dividing their budget between several players rather than splurging it all on one.

Caicedo could emerge as an alternative to Bellingham in the coming weeks.

However, given Brighton rejected a bid of £70m for the Ecuadorian, he too could be out of Liverpool’s price range.

Even so, it is a slight surprise to see the Reds available at odds as long as 12/1 given their clear need for a midfielder, and Caicedo’s suitability for the role.

Tottenham And Man City Outsiders In This Race

Pep Guardiola

Tottenham (14/1) and Manchester City (16/1) are both outsiders to sign Caicedo on betting apps

There is a decent chance that Brighton will actually finish above Spurs, thus lessening the appeal of joining the north Londoners. The fact Tottenham are currently looking for a new manager does not help their cause either.

City are now leading the race for Bellingham and look set to focus their efforts on signing the Birmingham-born starlet.

If they miss out on him, though, they could look to Caicedo as an alternative. The 21-year-old would no doubt jump at the chance to work with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium next season.
