AFL Betting Tips 2025: Round 19 Best Bets And Betting Trends

Sydney and Port Adelaide continue to cling on after picking up handy wins in recent weeks, but both appear to be running out of time as most of the teams above them continue to add points consistently.

The Western Bulldogs are threatening to drop out of the eight alongside those below them, after once again failing to beat a top-eight side.

That chronic inability forms the basis of one of our six best bets for Round 19 of the 2025 AFL season.

We’ve reviewed the best AFL betting sites in Australia this week and spotted a couple of intriguing totals, as we aim to bounce back from a losing Round 18 and maintain our strong long-term form in 2025.

AFL Round 19 Predictions:

Brisbane Vs Western Bulldogs, Friday, 7:40pm AEST

Defending premiers Brisbane remain second-favourites for the flag with Australian betting sites, having seemingly overcome their mid-season stumble with three consecutive wins, accounting for Carlton and potentially even eliminating Port Adelaide in the process.

They are only 11.5-point favourites against the Western Bulldogs - perhaps because they had to overcome a near-40-point deficit at Norwood Oval when these teams met during the 2025 Gather Round.

While the Bulldogs’ recent form shows four wins from their last five, none have come against top-tier opposition.

Head coach Luke Beveridge has criticised suggestions that his side must defeat a top-eight team to be deemed a genuine contender, but the stats are stark.

The Bulldogs are now 1–8 against the current top half of the table, after a competitive yet unsuccessful showing against Adelaide last week.

That’s why we’re backing Brisbane to prevail at The Gabba. The Lions have led at half-time in each of their last 11 matches - a trend we’re banking on to extract added value.

However, whether you agree or not, there may be value in backing Bulldogs sharpshooter Aaron Naughton to record 3+ goals.

He has kicked three or more in four of his five games since Sam Darcy’s return, underlining that he hasn’t regressed since shifting from a makeshift full-forward to centre half-forward.

Best Bet: Brisbane HT/FT Double - 1.87 With Bet365

Player Prop: Aaron Naughton 3+ Goals - 3.15 With Unibet

Geelong Vs St Kilda, Sunday, 1:10pm AEST

Sunday’s triple-header kicks off in Geelong - perhaps St Kilda’s greatest bogey venue.

One has to go back to 1999 - yes, 1999 - to find the Saints' last premiership points win at GMHBA Stadium. They’ve made 12 unsuccessful trips since, including a 76–68 loss in early 2024, with some heavy defeats along the way.

Despite their season being all but over, the Saints showed plenty of spirit in last week's narrow loss to Sydney.

Our main interest lies in the total points market. Geelong and St Kilda rank third and fourth respectively for total points per game (176.9 and 172.4), both exceeding the current over/under line of 169.5 set by AFL betting apps.

That figure has been surpassed in the majority of games played in Geelong this year - including Geelong’s big wins over Richmond (124–52) and Fremantle (147–69). Both clubs also featured in high-scoring contests last round.

Shannon Neale is second-favourite behind Jeremy Cameron to kick multiple goals, having kicked 13 goals in his last four appearances and can be backed at 1.70.

Best Bet: Cats Vs Saints: Over 169.5 Total Points - 1.90 With Picklebet

Player Prop: Shannon Neale 2+ Goals — 1.70 With Ladbrokes

Adelaide Vs Gold Coast, Sunday, 4:40pm AEST

On the other hand, we think bookmakers have overshot with a 175.5 over/under for Adelaide vs Gold Coast.

Both teams rank just behind the Cats and Saints in average total points per game - Adelaide with 171.2 (5th) and Gold Coast with 170.8 (6th).

While 10 Suns games this season have cleared the 176-point mark, many were dominant wins against lower-ranked sides - such as 141 points against North, 117 against Sydney, 115 against Essendon, 136 against West Coast and 120 against Melbourne.

This week, however, they face the second-best defence in the competition.

That could stifle their scoring, while the Suns themselves are defensively capable of containing Adelaide’s potent forward 50.

Only two of Gold Coast’s last seven games at Adelaide Oval have gone above 175.5 points. While this match could come close, the average trends suggest the total may fall just short.

Punters should be wary of backing Suns players in the disposals market: Adelaide concede the fewest disposals per game across all 18 clubs.

Instead, Crows skipper Jordan Dawson looks a solid option to collect 25+ for the fourth straight week - and the tenth time in 2025 - including 31 in the reverse fixture.

Best Bet: Under 175.5 Total Points - 1.90 With PlayUp

Player Prop: Jordan Dawson 25+ Disposals - 1.83 With Ladbrokes
