Betting Odds: Bengals-Browns Fans Eye Joe Burrow’s Status
The question in Ohio — and around the NFL — is whether Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will play much, if at all, in the regular season opener on Sunday on the road against Ohio’s other NFL team, the Cleveland Browns.
Burrow sustained a right calf injury this summer during preseason practice and has sat out since then. Early indication were that he would miss a few games, but he has been practicing lately and, according to coaches, is showing he could be ready on Sunday.
For fans and bettors, a lot could be riding on whether Burrow sees action.
Currently, BetMGM Sportsbook has Burrow at 8.00 to win NFL MVP, only behind Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes (7.0).
In addition, DraftKings Sportsbook has Burrow at 8.5, which puts him behind Mahomes (7.0 ) for league MVP but ahead of Buffalo’s Josh Allen (9.5) and Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts 12.0).
Regardless of Burrow’s early season status, PointsBet Canada has the Bengals at 11.0 to win the Super Bowl, behind the Kansas City Chiefs (7.0), Philadelphia Eagles (7.5), Buffalo Bills (9.0) and San Francisco 49ers (10.0).
