So far this has been a season with several high-profile injuries, headlined by season-ending injuries to the Jets’ Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), the Ravens’ J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) and the Browns Nick Chubb Chubb (knee).

Going into Thursday’s game in San Francisco between the 49ers and New York Giants (8:15 p.m. ET), we are adding another big name to the list, and this isn’t going to help the Giants at all, currently huge underdogs, 5.25 on the moneyline at BetMGM Sportsbook (Niners are 1.17).

In late-breaking news on Thursday, the Carolina Panthers announced that quarterback Bryce Young (knee) is not expected to play Sunday in Seattle against the Seahawks. Also Thursday, the Cincinnati Bengals announced that quarterback Joe Burrow (calf) is listed as day-to-day regarding whether he will play Monday against the Rams.

In other late-breaking news, the Dallas Cowboys reported that cornerback Trevon Diggs (torn ACL) is out for the season.

Injury Updates

SAQUON BARKLEY, RB, NEW YORK GIANTS: Listed as out for Thursday, with an ankle injury. Barkley didn’t practice all week after suffering an “ordinary” sprain against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2, according to ESPN. Barkley has rushed for 114 yards on 29 carries for a touchdown so far this season.

DAWSON KNOX, TE, BUFFALO BILLS: One of Bills’ QB Josh Allen’s favourite go-to’s, Knox has been hobbled by a back injury and didn’t practice Wednesday. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game in Washington, D.C., against the Commanders. That means it’s time for first-round pick Dalton Kincaid to step up. The 25th overall pick out of Utah has been solid so far – nine receptions for 69 yards, and a 7.7-yard average. The Bills are heavy favourites against the Commanders – 1.34 at BetMGM Sportsbook.

TYREEK HILL, WR, MIAMI DOLPHINS: Hill is suffering from an ankle injury and was limited at practice Wednesday, the Miami Herald reported. The Hill-QB Tua Tagovailoa tandem has been one of the top storylines so far in the NFL, with Hill going off for 16 receptions, 255 yards and three TDs. He is listed as questionable for the game Sunday against the Denver Broncos, with the Dolphins favourites at 1.30, according to theScore Bet.

DAVID MONTGOMERY, RB, DETROIT LIONS: The Lions’ new RB, off to a good start, with 141 yards rushing and two TDs and a 3.8-yard average, is questionable with a thigh injury. The 1-1 Lions host the Atlanta Falcons, 1.57 moneyline favourites at theScore Bet.

COBY BRYANT, CB, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: It’s tough to focus on finding one player when you look at how banged-up the Seahawks are, with 11 starters and backup players listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Seattle is listed at BetMGM Sportsbook as moneyline favourites at 1.36.

OTHER INJURY NOTABLES, ALL LISTED AS QUESTIONABLE: D.K. Metcalf, WR, Seahawks; Mike Onwenu, RG, New England Patriots; DeVante Parker, WR, Patriots; Breece Hall, RB, New York Jets; Quincy Williams, SLB, Jets; Reed Blankenship, FS, Philadelphia Eagles; Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers; Jordan Hicks, RILB, Minnesota Vikings; Jamaal Williams, RB, New Orleans Saints; Minkah Fitzpatrick, FS, Steelers.
