Corey Conners is at 351.0 to win the British Open at NorthStar Bets

Brian Harman is at 2.85 to win the British Open at BetMGM Sportsbook

With the betting line shifting dramatically as Round 2 of the British Open played out at Royal Liverpool, Canadian Corey Conners had a lot of work to do to get back into it.

On Friday, Conners was at +2 and tied for 52nd after a round of 71, while Canadian Open champ Nick Taylor had not fared well, finishing the day with a +6 (despite a nice birdie on 18).

Since the projected cut is +2, Taylor isn’t going to be playing this weekend, disappointing for the B.C. native who missed the cut at the U.S. Open the week after his win in Toronto. Taylor also missed the cut at the John Deere Classic and need up tied for 19th place last week at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Betting Odds

Though Taylor struggled at the British Open, Conners is advancing.

On Friday, BetMGM Sportsbook had Conners at 501.00 to win the tournament. He has played in three Opens – Royal Portrush in 2019, Royal St. George’s in 2021 and St. Andrews in 2022.

Meanwhile, the British Open has been the Brian Harman show, with the American finishing Round 2 on Friday with an eagle on 18, leaving him at -10.

When Brit Tommy Fleetwood teed off Friday, he sat five shots behind Harman. After an opening round of 66, Fleetwood went from 101.00 to 6.50 on Friday morning at BetMGM. Also on Friday Harman was at 2.85 to win the tournament. American Jordan Spieth, six shots off the pace early Friday, was at 9.00 as the day progressed.

Spieth was followed by American Scottie Scheffler, who teed off Friday with Fleetwood and was tied at 23rd. BetMGM had Scheffler at 13.00, just behind Fleetwood.

Over at NorthStar Bets, as Fleetwood and Scheffler teed off, Harman was at 2.88, followed by Fleetwood at 6.50, Spieth at 9.00 and Scheffler at 12.00.

As for Conners, NorthStar Bets had him at 351.00 on Friday.

Weather Forecast

For golf bettors keeping an eye on the weather, the skies on the U.K. West Coast have been cloudy on Friday with sunny patches. Showers were likely throughout the day, with wind gust of 20-24 mph.

Saturday’s forecast looks interesting: Rain might become heavier during the day, although not as windy, with gusts forecast at 9-12 mph and 13-17 mph.
