Huge Western Conference Showdown

The Minnesota Timberwolves (44-21, third in the Western Conference, 1.5 games out of first) are in Los Angeles to take on the Clippers (41-22, 4^th in the Western Conference, 3.5 games out of first), the highlight game of the night. The earlier game is equally as interesting – the Philadelphia 76ers (36-28, 6^th in the Eastern Conference, 14 games out of the first place) are in New York to take on the Knicks (37-27, 4^th in the Eastern Conference, 13 games out of first).

Game 1: Knicks vs. 76ers Insights

The two teams go into a rematch tonight after the 76ers beat the Knicks 79-73 Sunday in Philadelphia. That was the lowest offensive output by the Knicks since 2018 – going 26-80in FG%, 9-40 in 3PT%. They committed 19 turnovers.

The big news is the expected return of SF OG Anunoby (elbow), The Athletic is reporting. Anunoby has missed 18 games. The Knicks have struggled since Anunoby and PF Julius Randle (shoulder) went down – losing 10 of the 18 games. That was preceded by winning 12 of 14 games after Anunoby was acquired in late December in a trade with the Toronto Raptors.

The Knicks are pushing for playoff positioning and getting Anunoby back is huge news for them. Randle and C Mitchell Robinson are still out. Jalen Brunson played in his second game Sunday since sitting out with a knee injury but struggled, shooting 6-of-22.

For the 76ers, ESPN is reporting today that PG Tyrese Maxey has cleared concussion protocol and will play tonight. The Sixers have gone 1-3 in his absence. C Joel Embiid (knee), PF Robert Covington (knee), and SG De’Anthony Melton (back) are out.

Maxey is going to provide a big boost to the 76ers offence – averaging 26.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assist per game.

If you’re into online betting, most bet player props according to BetMGM are led by Jalen Brunson Over 27.5 Points (1.75), Donte DiVincenzo Over 3.5 Three Pointers (1.78), DiVincenzo Over 17.5 Points (1.95).

Game 2: Timberwolves vs. Clippers Insights

Injuries are the story for this game – who’s in and who’s out. The Clippers went down to defeat 124-117 at home to the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday, a game where they were without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Both are listed as questionable for tonight, SI.com reports.

Norman Powell had 26 points off the bench for the Clippers. Amir Coffey and P.J. Tucker combined for 23 points and 16 rebounds, a game the short-handed Clippers led by 62-59 at halftime.

The Timberwolves also lost their last game – Sunday, 120-109 to the L.A. Lakers. The Timberwolves were without C Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) and C Rudy Gobert (hamstring). PG Monte Morris, SG Anthony Edwards (shoulder), Gobert and SF Kyle Anderson (shoulder) are listed as questionable for tonight, according to ESPN.com.

On the NBA betting front, Anthony Edwards Over 29.5 Points (1.85), Rudy Gobert Under 15.5 Rebounds (1.90) and Kawhi Leonard Under 1.5 Three Pointers (2.30) are most bet player props at BetMGM.
