There are 12 games on Tuesday night schedule. Ontario sports bettors should be happy that Toronto is not playing until Wednesday when they get to play an unrested Philadelphia team.

Let’s get you ready for your NHL betting tonight.

Ottawa Senators at Tampa Bay Lightning

The Senators and the Lightning get things moving on Tuesday night, and this game could feature some offence. Tampa Bay has been slightly slowed defensively with the departure of Ryan McDonagh. Add in a few injuries to Erik Cernak and Zach Bogosian, and that did not help matters to start the season.

Ottawa is the biggest problem. Cam Talbot was missing for most of the early season because of injury. Josh Norris is out for several months. Artem Zubem is now unavailable.

Betting momentum keeps trending slightly toward Tampa Bay, who has won two straight games. Ottawa has dropped two straight after winning four consecutive contests. That is not so excellent news for Canadian sports bettors.

Bettors in Canada should gaze at the Over on a night like this. That 1.91 number could be a decent spot. An attractive hedge involves looking at Tampa Bay in regulation (1.64). The Puckline stands at 2.19.

These two teams, as we said, can score goals. It is the defending part that is questionable. Expect shot props to see heavy activity. Steven Stamkos (1.87) and Nikita Kucherov (2.20) will be big draws to fire four or more pucks on net. Brady Tkachuk could figure to do the same for Ottawa (1.95).

Seattle Kraken at Calgary Flames

With six Canadian teams in action tonight, that leaves plenty of action to choose from. Do not fret. We saved some of the seemingly worst to try to improve it. On paper, Calgary and Seattle seem like a total mismatch, but we are searching for goals again. Calgary should be able to score a few here on Tuesday night.

The Flames were looking good early on Saturday against Edmonton, but Jacob Markstrom forgot that adage to “stay in his crease.” Connor McDavid took advantage of the situation. Edmonton scored one more time to turn a 2-1 late deficit into a third-period win. Hopefully, Calgary and Markstrom learned a valuable lesson. Don’t give elite players an inch.

What does that mean for tonight? It figures to be Jacob Markstrom in the net versus Martin Jones for Seattle.

The teams may or not trade goals. Numbers suggest that both teams can score more than 3.5 goals each. That feels like a gift, even at 1.83.

Calgary, in regulation, is at 1.63. The Flames’ Puckline stands at 2.08. Ideally, that needs to increase to 2.15 to 2.25, but this falls into a bettable range. Also, look to see where Calgary (team total Over 3.5 goals) is and maybe the first-period three-way. Calgary wants to get the jump at home on the Kraken (2.13).

New Jersey Devils at Vancouver Canucks

As much as we wanted to look at Montreal and Minnesota, this Vancouver game at home versus New Jersey could feature some “after-dark chaos.” Let’s keep this one brief. New Jersey comes in firing 36+ shots on goal in all but one of its games. Vancouver’s defence is still a mess, with several players out.

Vancouver has some firepower and has won two straight after starting the season 0-5-2. New Jersey has not gone to overtime. It is the first game of a three-game road trip for the Devils. It is also the most winnable contest, as New Jersey is a rare road favourite.

Instead, look to the Over of 6.5 goals at 1.97 and maybe Vancouver in regulation at 2.44 for a tiny wager.

Some Random Wagers For Canadian Sports Bettors Tonight

  • Grand Salami Over 76.5 goals - 1.80

Good luck, and take a look at our previews and much more. Thanks for reading!
