NorthStar Gaming Registers to Offer Sports Betting and iGaming in Ontario

NorthStar Gaming Inc. announced Thursday that it is now officially a registered online casino and sportsbook operator under Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission.

With this registration, NorthStar Gaming Inc., the Ontario-native casino and sportsbook gaming platform, cites this as one of the “last significant milestones” to become a regulated online operator in Ontario, saying that its launch is now “imminent.”

“As a made-in-Ontario online gaming and sportsbook operator, we’re excited to be awarded our registration as we prepare to launch a locally relevant platform for Ontario gaming enthusiasts to experience,” Michael Moskowitz, Chief Executive Officer and a founding partner of NorthStar Gaming, said in a news release.

“As a local operator, the opportunity for us to design, build and launch a platform for our home market is very special. We’re proud to call Ontario home and look forward to introducing our content-rich platform to consumers.”

Before launching NorthStar Bets, NorthStar Gaming says it will be “working closely with both the AGCO and iGaming Ontario to ensure all remaining regulatory requirements are met.”

At NorthStar Bets, players will have access to real-time news, stats, analysis, and scores.

Rod Black Is NorthStar Ambassador

In March, ahead of the April 4 launch of sports betting and online gaming in Ontario, NorthStar announced that Rod Black joined the company as a host and brand ambassador.

Black is a well-known voice in Canadian sports broadcasting.

He spent most of his career at Bell Media as a play-by-play announcer for the Toronto Blue Jays, the CFL, and as a host for Toronto Raptors games.

He has also commentated on marquee events such as the Masters, RBC Canadian Open and five Olympic games.

"It's an exciting time for sports fans across Ontario and I look forward to introducing them to the NorthStar Bets brand and platform,” Black said in a statement. “Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to cover some of the biggest moments in Canadian sports history, but what I've always enjoyed most is the ability to interact and engage with passionate fans, something I look forward to continuing to do as a NorthStar Bets host and ambassador.”
