Please, don't break the bank this weekend. Like most sports bettors, a break exists with the NFL Pro Bowl and NHL All-Star Game on the slate. Yes, there are some NBA and college basketball games.

However, a lull of sorts is on the docket. Again, a few wagers are out there to make this weekend. Tossing a few dollars, like pizza or milk money, is not the end of the world.

Not too much has caught our eyes, but thankfully Sports Interaction saved us some trouble and added a wrinkle of two in the creativity department. Hey, they tried!

Connor McDavid Winning The NHL Accuracy Shooting

Again, this is being dubbed McPrecision. Even the number at 4.35 (+335 for Americans) is lucrative enough to take a look. Connor McDavid leads the NHL in scoring, but what he is most known for, besides speed, is accuracy. McDavid has yet to win this one (he won Fastest Skater) three times in a row. However, he has been close.

The excellent news for McDavid is that Sebastian Aho will not be in South Florida this year. Aho won the Accuracy Competition with ease last season in Las Vegas. That opens the door for McDavid. It will be interesting to see what happens. McDavid can do this in his sleep. He has to not overthink. No pressure. Right? Exactly!

Don't Forget The Goal Prop

Also, if one is feeling brave, there is a wager to be made at the “Break” for how many goals McDavid will wind up with after Game 82.

Currently, the center has 41 goals in 50 games. That breaks down to an average of 0.82 goals per contest. If he plays all 82 games, that adds up to 67 goals.

This seems like a lot, but one can wager as follows (Note: American numbers are in parenthesis):

  • Less than 50 goals - 6.98 (+598)
  • 51-55 goals - 4.96 (+396)
  • 56-60 goals - 4.32 (+332)
  • 61-65 goals - 3.46 (+246)
  • 66-70 goals - 3.55 (+255)
  • 71+ goals - 4.35 (+335)

Barring injury, the first two on this list likely can be eliminated. It boils down to the three below. The chances that McDavid gets to 71 goals are small, but look where the sweet spot forms.

Even if the center regresses a little, he should get between 58 and 68 goals. If McDavid exceeds that pace, looking into that hedge bet of 71 goals is reasonable.

Think small here. No one is suggesting betting hundreds of dollars. A few dollars is more than sufficient. After all, there is a whole post-All-Star Break and playoffs to consider.

Which Team Wins The NHL All-Star Tournament?

While individual games can be bet on, let's skip to who can win the whole thing. That is where a bettor can make a little more profit. Since the division format started in 2016, there have only been two winners - the Pacific (3) and Metropolitan (3). What is more amusing is that the two divisions have alternated who has come out on top.

Playing the percentages dictates looking at the Pacific (+274, 3.74). The Metropolitan comes in at +324, +4.24). The Atlantic and Central are favored here, but why go in another direction? Again, no one should be wagering Scrooge McDuck levels of money here. Our pick is the Metro to repeat, but few would be shocked if the Pacific finds a way here.

Good luck, everyone, and thanks to Sports Interaction for all the help. The season starts up again on Monday. (And, Super Bowl LVII is a little over a week away.)
