The Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights made for some exciting television and drama on Saturday night. In the end, Vegas held on for a 3-2 victory, and then there was a little extra.

Unlike Game 3, Vegas jumped out early to a 3-0 lead. It appeared the Golden Knights were on their way to an easy victory when Brandon Montour pinballed a puck off multiple players and into the net. From there, Florida added another goal in the third before Vegas held on by a whisker.

Despite an ensuing brawl after the buzzer, Vegas now enjoys a 3-1 series lead heading into Tuesday night’s Game 5. For sports bettors out there, yes, the Stanley Cup boarded a flight to Las Vegas. It will be in the building.

NHL betting sites list Vegas as a solid 1.61 to 1.57 favorite for Game 5. Let’s see what wagers we will consider this Tuesday night.

Why You Should Bet on Vegas in Stanley Cup Final Game 5

The Vegas Golden Knights scored the magic three goals needed in Game 4 to ensure victory. In every one of their postseason losses, the Golden Knights tallied twice or fewer. Vegas dominated good stretches of the game until the third period. One lesson from Game 4 may be again that Vegas cannot afford to sit back.

This time, Vegas did all its damage at even strength. Both teams were granted one power play opportunity. Chandler Stephenson scored twice, while William Karlsson added a goal. Mark Stone dished out two assists, and Jonathan Marchessault had a helper. Vegas has too much depth and defense. When that fails, Adin Hill makes timely saves.

Vegas keeping Florida off the scoreboard on special teams (only one short-handed goal) is another story of this series. It is another reason the Golden Knights are only one win from the Stanley Cup. These reasons are why the best sports betting sites have Vegas favoured.

Why You Should Bet on Florida in Stanley Cup Final Game 5

The Florida Panthers performed better on home ice in Games 3 and 4. Although Florida lost Game 4, it battled back from a 3-0 deficit to almost force overtime. It did all this despite mainly being outplayed at even strength. Florida had just four high-danger chances after the opening 20 minutes. It made those chances count.

Florida must find ways to get more players involved. Vegas had at least 10 players with points in Games 1 and 2. That balance needs to be more robust for the Panthers. Then again, Florida needs its best players at their absolute best. Honestly, the Panthers could catch Vegas feeling the nerves of winning the Stanley Cup on Tuesday.

Stanley Cup Final Game 5 Pick

Our best pick for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final still rolls with the Vegas Golden Knights. Taking the Puckline at 2.60 is likable. This game might get away from Florida if Vegas scores early.

Florida is the more banged-up team. Matthew Tkachuk’s shoulder, at the least, is injured and may be other issues, too. Several players from Florida look a bit slower than even at the start of the series. The Golden Knights keep rolling, and not even Sergei Bobrovsky can hold them back.

Other Wagers To Consider for Game 5

Betting on the Stanley Cup Final is still rolling along. While getting creative is nice at this late stage, wagering smaller amounts seems more ideal.

Hopefully, one stuck with Vegas in five from the beginning at 4.75. By last Friday, it was down to 3.60. Now, that sports bet is down to 1.61. However, taking a risk on a Game 6 Vegas win has moved to 4.30.

Finally, Vegas Over 3.5 goals rolls in at a solid 2.15. Again, keep things simple. The Golden Knights scored 4+ goals with regularity at home and did so in both games this series. Lastly, remember Adin Hill Under 27.5 saves at 1.95. It’s a bit risky, but the chances Vegas allows 30 shots or more at home feels high.

We will have more picks on social media. Good luck!
