UFC Fight Night Main Event: Former Strawweight Champ Looks to Get Back on Winning Track

Who do you like on the UFC Fight Night main event card tomorrow night at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas?

Former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas (12-6-0), 31, faces Amanda Ribas (12-4-0) in the headline event, in a critical five-round flyweight battle. Namajunas is coming off losses to Manon Fiorot in September (by unanimous decision), and Carla Esparza in May 2022. Namajunas had been a two-time UFC champion in the 115-pound division before moving up to 125 to fight Fiorot. 

Ribas, 30, is coming off a big knockout win over Luana Pinheiro in November. She’s never had a main event bout – meaning a fourth and fifth round. Namajunas has more experience there. She also hasn’t fought as much lately, which will give her an advantage.

In the undercards, Karl Williams (9-1-0) faces Justin Tafa (7-3-0) in a heavyweight bout, Edmen Shahbazyan (12-4-0) fights AJ Dobson (7-2-0) in a middleweight bout, Payton Talbott (7-0-0) faces Cameron Saaiman (9-1-0, coming off his first loss) in the bantamweight category, Billy Quarantillo (18-5-0) faces Youssef Zalal (13-5-1) in a featherweight bout, and Fernando Padilla (15-5-0) faces Luis Pajuelo (8-1-0) in a featherweight fight.
