Women's World Cup Canada vs. Nigeria Best Bets

After the host nations New Zealand and Australia kick off the Women's World Cup on Thursday, Canada and Nigeria keep the action going on Thursday night with another game in Group B.

Australia is expected to win this group (-185), although Canada is -430 on the moneyline to qualify out of Group B, as Nigeria sits at +600 to get into the knockout rounds. Based on these odds, Canada should have an easy game.

Canada Bets, Picks, Analysis

Canada is the clear soccer betting favorite to defeat Nigeria this Thursday, and justifiably so.

Nobody in Nigeria's offensive setup has more than 30 goals and five of its seven offensive players at this World Cup have failed to score more than 10 goals for it. It makes Nigeria one of the lowest-scoring teams and it is priced at +850 just to beat Canada.

What’s more, Canada is somewhat flying under the radar at this World Cup with so much attention on the host nation Australia, USA and the reigning European champions, England.

Canada has eight players from the English Women's Super League, including one of the division's best players, Jessie Fleming. She is fresh off the back of winning the WSL and FA Cup with Chelsea, and alongside stars like Adriana Leon in offense and defensive stars like Ashley Lawrence and Kadeisha Buchanan, Canada will be a threat to anyone at this World Cup.

We anticipate a convincing win for the Canadians against Nigeria.

Best Canada Soccer Prop Bet: Christine Sinclair to Score

At 40 years old, Christine Sinclair will be looking for her 191st goal in international soccer. The Canadian superstar is the all-time leading goalscorer in international soccer across both the men’s and women’s games, as she also sits alongside Marta and Cristiano Ronaldo as the only players to score at five different World Cups.

There’s no reason to suggest she won’t get a goal in her sixth attempt either, and with Canada -390 just to win the game, its all-time leader in caps and goals will surely have a say.

Sinclair to score prop bet is +280 to score first and -130 to get a goal at any stage during the game. Against an inferior Nigeria team and inexperienced defense, she will be favored to add to her record-breaking 190 goals.

Canada Women's World Cup Soccer Prop Bet

As we expect a comfortable victory for Canada, we also anticipate it scoring in both halves.

Nigeria has, however, been much better in 2023 after losing every game last year and letting in a total of nine goals in four games. It has still managed to lose two of its five games this year.

With this in mind, we see Canada having an easy match and getting some goals throughout the game, especially with the likes of Sinclair and Fleming in the squad.
