GreatSpin Sportsbook Review 2025

Sports bettors in Alberta have a vast selection of Canadian betting sites to choose from, and one of the latest additions to the list of options came in 2024 with the launch of GreatSpin.

GreatSpin is an online sportsbook and casino licensed in Curacao and owned by Softgenius N.V., a prominent gambling operator with four sportsbooks under its management.

My review will focus on GreatSpin’s sports betting vertical, which serves up fair odds on a wide range of live and pre-match betting options.

Sports to Bet On With GreatSpin

GreatSpin’s betting menu featured 36 sports to bet on, including esports, specials, and a strong selection of niche sports such as beach volleyball, pesäpallo, and water polo. 

Of course, GreatSpin also covers the NFL, CFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, and college football. Let’s look at the most popular sports on offer.

GreatSpin NHL Betting

GreatSpin has a wide range of NHL betting opportunities. Like a lot of NHL betting sites, GreatSpin has a good selection of markets available for each game, ranging from puck lines and totals to some of the more obscure secondary markets.

Hockey fans will also appreciate access to dozens of other leagues, including the new PWHL, NCAA, AHL, and numerous European leagues.

The downside to the huge selection of betting options is that the odds margins are a little out of line. For instance, I saw that NHL totals routinely had odds margins exceeding 8%. 

On the other hand, KHL moneylines were reasonably priced, with average mainstream margins hovering between 5% and 5.25%.

GreatSpin NFL and CFL Betting

If you like NFL betting and, in particular, betting on NFL moneylines, then you should be pretty happy with GreatSpin, as those bets often come with very good odds margins of under 4%. 

While an average margin of 5.26% for NFL spreads and totals is slightly higher, it still qualifies as highly competitive.

I also commend the depth of the betting menus at GreatSpin, as the sportsbook offers all sorts of secondary markets, like races to X points, odd and even score totals, and a superb selection of player props.

CFL bettors will be very happy with the CFL odds margins, which usually come in at a little over 5%. The main drawback I found is that the CFL menus don’t offer much beyond sides and totals.

GreatSpin NBA Betting

GreatSpin offers one of the most expansive NBA futures menus I have encountered at any NBA betting sites. Division winners, conference winners, championship winners, and the NBA in-season tournament are all on offer.

Then there are all of the exciting player award props. You can even bet on whether your team will make the playoffs. The average odds margin for sides and totals typically hovers between 5% and 5.26%, although it can be slightly higher for secondary betting markets.

GreatSpin MLB Betting

GreatSpin offers some of the best MLB odds you can find at MLB betting sites. With margins on moneylines falling in the 4% range and the 4.5% range for runlines and totals, you have a chance to make the most profits on your winning bets.

Furthermore, I loved that the sportsbook offers a wide range of fun pitcher props. These wagers also have sub-5% odds margins, which is rare.

In addition to MLB, GreatSpin offers odds on Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese leagues. These leagues also offer competitive margins of approximately 5.5% alongside extensive betting menus, which include 5-inning lines, highest-scoring inning, and first-inning totals.

Live Betting Options and Features

Whether it's a major showdown like a Stanley Cup game or an under-the-radar competition like a Czech Liga Pro table tennis match, GreatSpin Sportsbook will offer live odds on it. That means you can bet while the games are in progress.

The live betting section offers most of the same main features as the pre-match menus, including cash outs and an exclusive option called Flash Markets.

The Flash Markets feature is available for select live events, providing bettors with access to up to 200 live markets based on moment-to-moment action. New markets are added every 20 or 30 seconds.

The sportsbook also offers live streaming, but I deliberately omitted this earlier because it is generally limited to esports and niche sports. Nevertheless, this is a major plus for fans of those sports.

Same-Game Parlays

GreatSpin is fully behind one of the latest betting trends, which includes placing same-game parlay bets. The sportsbook calls same-game parlays “Bet Builders”, which are offered on most football, baseball, and hockey pre-match menus. It is also available on live and pre-match soccer menus.

Of course, the Bet Builder doesn’t limit bettors to options from just one match. I could use it to combine selections from multiple matches. The great news is that you can even use the cash-out feature on selections within your Bet Builder parlay.

There are a couple of limitations to the Bet Builder feature. For example, you are allowed a maximum of 6 selections from a single match, and the maximum odds for each Bet Builder is capped at 1001/1. 

GreatSpin Mobile Betting

GreatSpin delivers a smooth mobile experience. Although it doesn’t appear in the list of Canada betting apps, users can easily place bets via their mobile browser at GreatSpin.com.
