Our Verdict: Spreadex combines standout spread betting markets with lots of fixed-odds options - just don’t expect to bet on GAA here.

Quick Summary: Spreadex at a Glance

Spreadex is a unique online bookmaker combining traditional fixed-odds betting with spread betting.

The spread offers a different way to bet, with profit or loss determined by the accuracy of your prediction, rather than a single outcome.

For example, if you predict how many goals will be scored in a football match, your profit or loss depends on how far the result lands from your prediction.

The Spreadex welcome offer is one of the best around. It gave me free bets to use on both spread and fixed-odds markets.

This is handy if you're new to spread betting and want to try it out - because it's an advanced style of gambling that takes some getting used to.

A couple of drawbacks to note: There are no GAA markets here at all, so you can't bet on Gaelic games, and there is no best odds guaranteed offer for horse racing.

But overall, Spreadex is a good fixed-odds option - and the best in the business if you want to bet on the spread.

Spreadex Pros
  • Option to place spread bets
  • Competitive racing & football prices
  • Highly-rated mobile app
  • Plenty of sports streamed live
  • Loyalty free bets
Spreadex Cons
  • No GAA markets
  • No best odds guaranteed offer
  • Can't deposit or withdraw with e-wallets

Spreadex Welcome Offer vs Offers From Competitors

I really like the versatility of Spreadex’s welcome offer.

Claiming the Bet €10, Get €60 package took less than three minutes in the app and the split between €30 in fixed-odds free bets and €30 in spread credits allowed me to try both styles of betting.

Also, €60 in free bets for betting €10 is on the more generous side of things as far as welcome offers go.

Some offers, like TonyBet's 100% deposit match up to €100, come with more free bets - but you need to deposit more in order to get them.

Top 5 Spreadex Offers For Existing Customers

Spreadex has a decent selection of promotions for existing customers - especially those who like to bet on horse racing.

I'd like to see a few more special offers extended to sports outside of racing and football, however.

With that said, here are five of my favourites:

PromotionDescription
1. 2nd to a Rag InsuranceFree bet if your horse places 2nd to a 33/1+ outsider.
2. First Past The postPaid on both original and official winners if demoted.
3. Acca Boost Up to 100% boost on acca winnings
4. Lucky Double OddsDouble odds if only one leg wins in Lucky 15/31/63 bets.
5. Spread Free Bets4th sports spread bet free after 3 qualifying bets.

Spreadex Horse Racing Betting

I’ve been impressed by Spreadex’s fixed-odds and spread betting markets for horse racing.

Traditional win/each-way horse racing odds are some of the best I’ve seen from any horse racing betting site.

However, as already covered, there's no best odds guaranteed offer, which is disappointing.

What really impressed me was Spreadex’s spread betting range - I found a variety of markets to explore.

I bet on the race index, winning favourites, jockey index and trainer matchups when testing this site.

These markets let you scale your profit or loss based on how far the result deviates from the spread - just remember, you can lose more than your original stake.

For example, I 'bought' the race index (a market that turns a race card into a points contest you can buy or sell) at 55 points with a €10 stake.

When the index settled at 58, I won 3 × €10 (€30); had it closed at 52, I would have lost 3 × €10 (€30).

Spreadex GAA Betting

Spreadex doesn’t offer any GAA betting markets for Irish punters.

If you want to bet on hurling and Gaelic football, I recommend heading to BoyleSports

I found more GAA market variety at BoyleSports than at any other Irish betting site, with competitive odds and a good selection of dedicated GAA promotions.

Spreadex Football Betting

I was really impressed by the variety in Spreadex's football markets.

A Club World Cup game between Flamengo and Chelsea had 451 available betting options, with odds comparing favourably against the best football betting sites

For instance, I backed Cole Palmer to score first at 6/1 and compared the price with a couple of rival bookies - Betway was offering 5/1, while BetVictor had him at 11/2.

The spread side of things includes options like total goals, goal supremacy and quirky markets like shirt numbers (the shirt numbers of goalscorers added together at end of game).

The bet builder is easy to use, though BetVictor and QuinnBet allowed me to combine more legs in my same-game acca.

"Acca boosts are always a welcome sight for those of us who enjoy a weekend football accumulator."

Spreadex Golf Betting

Spreadex’s golf betting section is decent, but there are better options if you like an each-way punt.

Spreadex generally pays down to four places each-way at 1/5 of the odds.

By comparison, I often get paid out at 1/5 of the win odds down to 10th place at bet365, while William Hill offers 1/4 odds down to 8th place.

I do like the helpful stats and insights that come with each tournament, however.

Spreadex’s spread markets are probably the only reason I'd choose to bet on golf with them.

I’ve found good value on the leaderboard index and cut-line markets here in the past.

"The cash out feature is really intuitive - handy when I'm betting on golf spreads."

Spreadex Rugby Betting

Spreadex keeps things simple with its rugby betting section.

Fixed-odds prices are generally good - for example, on an Ireland v England Six Nations match, I got Ireland +3.5 at 8/1, beating 10bet's 7/1.

Spread betting markets include match supremacy (winning margin), total points and total tries.

There are no specific rugby promotions here, which is an area that could be improved.

Spreadex Odds & Market Variety

In my experience, fixed-odds prices sit above the industry average for major sports like horse racing and football at Spreadex.

Tennis odds are very competitive, but I’ve found better prices for the likes of golf and snooker elsewhere.

With that said, there are plenty of daily price boosts across many of the 20 sports, so this can increase value. I’ve squeezed lots of extra value out of my bets by keeping an eye on these.

Nearly every sport, from football and racing to golf and tennis, comes with dozens of buy/sell spreads and dynamic payouts.

You won’t find this range of spread betting markets at any other Irish bookie.

The big drawback with Spreadex - at least for me - is the lack of GAA markets.

I'd like to see hurling and Gaelic football options available in the near future.

Spreadex Bet Builder

Spreadex’s bet builder used to be just for football, but now it’s available on seven sports as of my last count: football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, baseball, American football and rugby - which is a big step up.

You can add up to eight picks from one game into a single bet and most popular markets are covered.

I built a football bet combining match result, both teams to score and total corners - the process was quick and easy.

Just keep in mind that spread betting markets can’t be included - bet builder is only for fixed odds.

Still, it’s one of the better same-game multis I’ve used, especially now that it supports more sports.

Here’s how the feature stacks up against major competitors:

BookmakerMaximum SelectionsSports Available
Up to 87 Sports in Total
Up to 1214 Sports in Total
Up to 105 Sports in Total
Up to 83 Sports in Total

Live In-Play Betting at Spreadex

Spreadex’s in-play hub is dynamic and delivers an excellent live betting experience across all sports.

The ability to toggle between fixed-odds and spread markets mid-game is a feature you won’t find at many other sites - bar Sporting Index, which is a sister-site of Spreadex.

For instance, I placed a live bet on football corners at fixed-odds, then bought a total goals spread 10 minutes later for the same game.

The live streaming service is also up there with the best live streaming betting sites like bet365 and Unibet.

The platform provides live coverage for several major sports, including football, basketball, tennis, cricket, horse racing, greyhound racing and boxing.

To access a stream, I usually need to have a funded account.

User Experience & Site Design

Spreadex’s site is clean and easy to navigate, with a signature black, white and red theme.

There aren't many flashing banners or pop-ups, which are some of my pet peeves. The ones that do show up are generally useful, alerting users to the biggest upcoming events and best promotions.

Sometimes pages on desktop contain a bit too much info - which could frustrate new users at times.

However, I like that the sports sections are organised hierarchically, so it's easy to find the most popular sports.

I found it easy to toggle between fixed-odds and spreads in each sport section and when betting in-play.

Another simple feature I like is that TV details are included beside fixtures (see picture above), so you know where to watch a game if there's no live stream available on the site.

Spreadex Betting App

With its 4.7/5 App Store user rating, Spreadex ranks among Ireland’s top betting apps

My own experience mirrors thousands of positive reviews on both the App Store and Google Play store.

Navigation is easy, with no bugs, glitches or crashes during testing, plus the live streaming quality is high.

It’s less flashy than bet365’s polished interface, but that wasn’t a huge problem for me.

I especially like the 'My Teams' feature, which lets you tag favourites and view only relevant fixtures and markets.

Odds refresh quickly and bet placement (fixed or spread) completes in two taps.

Spreadex gives me everything I want in a betting app without unnecessary frills.

Customer Support

Support is available via phone, live chat and email during extended daily hours.

There is no Irish number, so I had to call the UK number on the site, which was inconvenient.

The call connected within a minute and the agent was polite and helpful in answering my questions about fixed-odds and spread betting.

I found that live chat response averages 2–3 minutes and email replies arrive within a few hours.

Meanwhile the comprehensive FAQ covers account, payments and spread-betting rules.

Responsible Gambling at Spreadex

Spread betting losses can greatly exceed your stake, so this type of betting requires understanding before you dive in.

The responsible gambling section at Spreadex comes with deposit limits, session reality checks, time-outs (24 hrs to 90 days) and self-exclusion (6 months to 5 years).

You can access net-loss limits before placing spread bets, to ensure it's not possible to lose what you can't afford.

Overall, Spreadex provides a robust toolkit to help you bet within your means and take breaks when necessary.

This is especially important in a spread betting context, so I was glad to see it.

The Bottom Line: Final Thoughts on Spreadex

Spreadex feels like two betting sites in one with its spread and fixed-odds options.

This blend makes it a really unique and versatile bookmaker.

The spread betting markets are the standout for me - though less experienced bettors should be mindful that higher rewards come with greater risks.

If you mainly stick to fixed odds, Spreadex still delivers competitive prices on racing and football, a comprehensive bet builder and a top-tier live streaming service.

Adding GAA markets, a few more payment methods and a best odds guaranteed offer for racing would definitely improve this site.

But overall, this is a bookmaker I highly recommend. Just be sure to brush up on your knowledge with our spread betting strategy guide before you dive in.
