Curacao Gaming Authority Confirms Unauthorised Access To Online Portal

The Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA) has confirmed it is investigating unauthorised access to its online gaming portal, disclosed in a statement dated September 17, 2026.

What Happened

According to the regulator, it and its service provider activated incident response procedures immediately after detecting the access, and the provider began a forensic investigation to determine what happened. 

The CGA said the unauthorised access has since been contained and its source identified, but the investigation remains ongoing, and the full scope has not yet been established.

"Upon detection of the incident, the CGA and its service provider immediately activated their incident response procedures, and its provider commenced a forensic investigation to determine what happened," the regulator said. 

"While the unauthorised access has been contained, the investigation remains ongoing and has not yet established the full scope of the incident."

CGA's Assessment So Far

The CGA said it has not identified any compromise of its core technical infrastructure, but cautioned that the nature of the information it holds makes it premature to draw conclusions about the incident's overall impact. 

Additional monitoring and security measures have been implemented as a precaution.

What Happens Next For Stakeholders

Should the investigation determine that information relating to individuals, applicants, licensees or other stakeholders was affected, the CGA said those parties will be notified directly in line with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. 

"The CGA recognises the concern that this incident may cause and remains committed to transparency throughout this process," the regulator added, noting further updates will follow as facts are established.
