Pragmatic Play are known industry-wide as a leading iGaming content provider. With huge releases like Mustang Gold, Super Joker and Fire Strike in their back catalogue, what they’ll do next is of great interest to gambling industry players and slot fans alike. Going into November’s EGR Operator Awards with a Game of the Year nomination for The Dog House Megaways under their belt, Michel Glansberg, Head of Account Management feels hopeful for a win in a hotly contested field. On today’s episode of The Knowledge he said:
“Putting a Megaways sort of branding on it [The Dog House] fits very well with the way Megaways works and the functionality of The Dog House. It just works well together and makes it very exciting. If you do like The Dog House there’s a big chance that you’ll like The Dog House Megaways. I do think we have a very good chance of winning. Of course we’re up against many good games in the category. How would I rate our chances? I don’t know, 20% chance maybe? I think that’s quite good given that there are many good games there.”
In 2020, Pragmatic Play have already released a number of successful titles, but, as far as their roadmap goes, the year is far from over. At the end of October Gems Bonanza and Reel of the Dead will be available at online casinos. Gems Bonanza is a stripped back gems-theme slot with a high volatility rating that Michel said is designed to be a simple and elegant introduction to slots:
“It’s not your normal 5x3 where you’re looking for three scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5. There’s a lot of things going on, there’s a lot of symbols, there's a big grid. From our end it’s our first game that has this style, and what’s important is that since there is so much action you need to make it quite easily visible. There are many different colours of gems so it’s easy to distinguish between the symbols. You need a theme with that to make the game exciting. It needs to all work well together; it would be hard to throw pirates in there, for example. It could get very messy! You need something simpler in this case.”
On November 11th Pragmatic Play’s first ever live casino game show will release. While Mega Wheel fits firmly in the ‘wheel game’ genre, Michel told the show that it has additional layers of complexity that make it an exciting entertainment package, designed as an amalgamation of TV and gambling.
“What it [Mega Wheel] will do is show that Pragmatic Play Live is a trusted supplier in this vertical. I’ve seen the game, played the game. It looks great and feels great. It’s adding a new, more complex heart into the live casino space for us. It’s a wheel but it comes with a lot of other complexities. We have specialised hosts that are there to entertain. If you open the game up and put it on mute you’ll realise it’s a completely different type of game. There are other wheel games out there but what’s exciting about this game in particular is that every spin, every round there’s always a multiplier on one of the numbers. You have a boosted number every spin which makes rounds more exciting and engaging, I believe.”
