Louis Saha: Fulham Must Do Everything To Keep Harry Wilson And Marco Silva

Louis Saha has urged Fulham to pull out all the stops to keep star player Harry Wilson and manager Marco Silva at Craven Cottage.

Wilson, out of contract in the summer, has scored eight Premier League goals and provided three assists this season, but talks about a new deal have been put on hold amid growing interest from several Premier League clubs.

Aston Villa, Brentford, Everton, Leeds and Crystal Palace have all been linked with a move for the Wales international, although Silva insists there is "zero chance" Wilson will be sold during the January transfer window.

Silva has been Fulham manager for five years, but his deal also runs out at the end of the season and it is thought Wilson is awaiting developments on the Portuguese before making a decision on his own future.

In an exclusive interview with casino comparison site Gambling.com, Saha, who scored 63 goals in almost four years with Fulham at the turn of the century before joining Manchester United, believes it is imperative both men commit their futures to the club.

Asked whether Fulham should do everything in their power to keep 28-year old winger Wilson at Craven Cottage, Saha said: "They have to - he’s a revelation and has done really well.

"But he has moved around quite a lot in a few years, so I think it’s time for him to settle and show that he can, the same as Silva.

"I think he’s already scored maybe eight or nine goals this year. He can achieve more because he’s a very talented lad. He can play pretty much anywhere.

"He's very unpredictable because he switches sides and the flow comes inside the pitch. It’s amazing, and he has great movement with the strikers.

"So I really like Fulham and what they offer him, and he scores screamers as well - so it’s unbelievable."

Harry Wilson

Saha is confident that Silva, who has been linked with the Manchester United job recently, will eventually pledge his future to the club and finally bring silverware to Craven Cottage.

The Frenchman said: "I really hope that he signs a new contract.

"He hasn’t finished the job yet. I think he came with this team to win a trophy. I really believe they have built something very, very strong and consistent, not only from a league point of view, but also in the cup.

"Yes, obviously, as a manager, you want to improve and maybe pursue the dream of managing a bigger club, I understand that. But Fulham is a great place to be. So, I do think that he’s going to sign a new contract."

Saha also thinks Oscar Bobb will prove to be an excellent addition to the Cottagers squad.

The Norwegian is close to joining Fulham from Manchester City in a £27million deal and fills the gap left by Adama Traore's move to West Ham on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

"They have a great set-up for talented players and I do think Fulham, with great investment - the right investment - coming in at this moment, at a time when there is stability, it could be a game-changer," said Saha.

He added: "I think you need to keep the players who are full of confidence and a manager who has dreams.

"I think it’s about putting silverware in the hands of the players - the fans deserve it. So I can’t wait to see that.

"It’s going to be tough, but I'm sure the foundations will be enough."
