Macau Job Fair To Offer 330+ Roles For New YOHO Casino Hotel

Macau's Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and the Macau Federation of Trade Unions will run a hotel-industry job-matching fair on September 23 and 24, offering more than 330 positions tied to the upcoming opening of the YOHO Gold Coast Hotel casino resort in Taipa, according to a report.

How The Job Fair Works

The fair will be held on the second floor banquet hall of Hotel Golden Dragon. Registration opens on September 17 at 9am and closes on September 22 at noon, with applicants using Macau's "one account" (一戶通) portal to select a session and apply for specific roles through the jobseeking service. DSAL and the union say they will also proactively text qualifying candidates about the opportunities.

The roles on offer span front-of-house and back-office functions, including front desk duty manager, network maintenance technical supervisor, recreation officer, new media operations specialist, marketing event coordinator, HR clerk, accounting clerk, leasing clerk, lifeguard, shuttle bus driver and food and beverage service staff.

The Operator Behind The Roles

The fair's sole listed employer is Macau Roosevelt Hotel Company Limited, which operates the YOHO Gold Coast Hotel on the site of the former New Century Hotel in Taipa. The property's overhaul has proved more difficult and costly than first expected: the first-phase trial operation, originally pencilled in for the third quarter, has been pushed back to November, with full completion of the renovation now targeted for February 2027.

YOHO Group has filed two separate hotel licensing applications for the site - one covering five-star operations and another for two-star accommodation - for a combined 943 rooms. Economy-class rooms were expected to begin opening at the end of August, with five-star rooms and an on-site shopping mall following in November.

Part Of Macau's Wider Labour Push

The YOHO fair is one of a recurring series of sector-specific job-matching events DSAL runs with local unions to help Macau residents fill vacancies as hospitality and gaming-adjacent properties ramp up staffing ahead of openings, part of the territory's broader effort to keep pace with labour demand as its tourism and integrated resort sector continues to expand.

YOHO Group was appointed to the site through an open tender in July last year, tasked with carrying out the renovation and launching hotel operations at what was previously the New Century Hotel. The group has since said the scale of the works required proved more demanding, and more expensive, than it had originally budgeted for.
