Nebraska Casinos Net $261m In 2025

Total gambling revenue from Nebraska’s casinos reached nearly $261.9million in 2025, an all-time high that places the state among the fastest-growing commercial casino markets in the United States.

Gross revenue surged 80% year over year, highlighting a decisive shift in Nebraska’s gaming industry just a few years after legalization.

December 2025 further underscored this rapid expansion. Nebraska casinos generated more than $26m during the month, the highest single-month total since casino gaming launched in the state.

Strong performance was reported across all properties, signaling sustained momentum heading into the new year.

The growth in casino revenue is translating directly into economic benefits for the state. Nebraska taxes gross gaming revenue at 20%, producing approximately $52m in tax receipts for 2025.

Those funds are primarily allocated to the Property Tax Credit Fund, casino host municipalities, gambling assistance programs and the Nebraska General Fund.

As a result, casino gaming has become a meaningful contributor to property tax relief for Nebraska residents.

WarHorse Gaming led all operators in 2025, generating roughly $177m in combined revenue from its Omaha and Lincoln locations.

WarHorse Casino Omaha delivered one of the strongest individual property performances in the state, driven largely by slot machines, which continue to account for the majority of casino revenue in Nebraska.

Other casinos also posted solid results. Grand Island Casino Resort generated approximately $55m in revenue, while Harrah’s Columbus produced more than $25m, supported by steady regional demand.

Lake Mac Casino & Resort added more than $4m during its first five months of operation, reflecting early enthusiasm for new gaming destinations.

Drivers Of Growth And Outlook For 2026

Slot machines remained the primary revenue driver, with slot revenue exceeding $21m in December alone.

The introduction and expansion of table games throughout 2025 helped broaden casino appeal, attracting a wider demographic of players and increasing the average length of casino visits.

Several factors fueled Nebraska’s rapid growth. This includes the addition of table games, the opening of new casino properties, improved marketing and loyalty programs, along with a growing trend of residents choosing to spend entertainment dollars in-state.

Expanded amenities - such as restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues - also encouraged higher per-visit spending.

Beyond gaming floors, casinos are reshaping local communities through job creation and new tax revenue streams.

The increase in employment opportunities and municipal funding has helped change perceptions of casino gaming, positioning it as both an entertainment option and an economic development engine.

As Nebraska enters 2026, its casino industry has firmly established itself as a major entertainment and revenue driver.

With continued expansion, improving facilities and strong consumer demand, casino gaming is expected to remain a significant contributor to the state’s economy for years to come.
