NRG Sign Up For NSTLGA Texas Open LAN To Salvage Major Odds

NRG have registered for the NSTLGA Texas Open LAN, their last scheduled event before the qualification cutoff for the PGL Singapore Major, after an overtime loss to Imperial at FRAG University 2026 dented their invite chances.

NSTLGA, the North American CS2 LAN series, confirmed NRG's entry in a post on X on October 11, welcoming the team alongside former NSTLGA LAN champion Jeorge, who plays for NRG.

According to the event's own listing on nstlga.gg, the Texas Open LAN runs October 30 to November 1 at Tech Port Esports in San Antonio, the third of four stops in the 2026 NA CS2 Circuit.

The field is capped at 24 teams, seeded by Americas VRS rankings as of October 5, with a prize pool that scales from $3,750 up to $15,000 as more teams register; as of October 12, 12 teams had signed up, setting the pool at $7,500.

A Smaller Event

NA esports outlet Dust2.us reported that NRG's odds of a Major invite sat around 65% heading into FRAG University, per HLTV's prediction model, before dropping to just above 50% following the Imperial loss, pushing the team outside the projected invite bubble.

With the Americas region's three remaining PGL Singapore Major slots being contested between NRG, Wildcard, Imperial and DENDELE, and with Wildcard having since won FRAG University outright, NRG's path has narrowed further.

The Texas Open LAN is considerably smaller than rival events still on the calendar for NRG's competitors, such as the $75,000 FiRe Last Chance, which Dust2.us noted could limit how much NRG's VRS ranking can move even with a strong result in San Antonio.

It remains unclear how many of the Texas Open LAN's matches HLTV will cover, which could further cap the ranking impact of a win.

Who Else Is In The Field?

Per the event's public team registry, NRG will compete alongside LAG, regain, Zomblers, NuTorious, COGNITIVE, YHTR, GARAZH Clan, Holly Molly, Cixun Esports, Coke Zero Boyz and Sashi Esport, among others, in a GSL-groups-into-single-elimination format with a best-of-five grand final.

With NRG's rivals for the final AME Major slots still alive in other events, the team will need a strong result in Texas and help elsewhere if it is to extend its run of appearances at the last three CS2 Majors.

Format And Seeding

The Texas Open LAN follows a GSL-groups format feeding into single-elimination playoffs, with best-of-three group matches and a best-of-five grand final, according to the event listing.

Seeding is drawn from Americas VRS rankings as of October 5, 2026, and registration for the $800 team pass closes October 20, with spectator passes priced at $25 for a single day or $60 for all three days.
