Vegas Player Bags $600k Palms Slot Jackpot From $20 Whitney Houston Slots Bet
A Palms Casino Resort player has walked away $600,000 richer after taking the Whitney Houston Slots Platinum Bonus Jackpot.
The bettor placed a $20 wager and walked away with the prize last weekend.
It continues a recent run of big wins at the Palms – an off-strip casino that opened in 2001.
The Whitney Houston Slots was launched by International Game Technology (IGT) in June 2024.
It features a soundtrack packed with hit singles from “the Voice” herself. The officially licensed game has a host of in-game features, including a wide-area progressive jackpot, which seeds at $500,000, similar to jackpots promoted by the best online casinos.
Players can enjoy a respin bonus, triggered by landing six records on the 5x3 play grid. The Lock & Respin bonus opens up access to the Grand Jackpot, while the Wheel Bonus is where the Grand, Major and Platinum jackpots are found.
Houston performed several events in Las Vegas during her lifetime, including a concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and the 2004 World Music Awards.
Most recently, Harrah’s Las Vegas put on a hologram concert featuring the Newark-born music star. She also recorded her final studio album, I Look To You, at the Studio at the Palms, which is part of the Palms Resort.

The Whitney Houston Slots installation, housed in the Sky Rise cabinet, stands 11 feet tall and includes two 55-inch 4K LCD screens. The game can be found in various casinos across Las Vegas, including the Palms Resort.
Although the game is relatively new, it has enjoyed some significant wins – the biggest of which saw a player at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas walk away with $1.5m. Other significant wins have included a $1.2m jackpot in California and a host of other wins over $500,000.

According to a report by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LCVA), 38,545,700 people visited Las Vegas in 2025, down 7.5% from the previous year.
LCVA President, Seve Hill, attributed the decline to tariff decisions made by President Trump and his administration, saying: “Some of the decisions our administration has made around international relations caused a drop in tourism."
But despite the growth of online casinos and the best online slots, Las Vegas casinos are nothing if not resilient.
Strip and downtown casinos saw a slight increase in gambling revenue for the year, indicating the venues are still managing to encourage bettors to bet.
