What Caesars’ $200M Lake Tahoe Transformation Is Really Building

Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe has entered the second phase of a sweeping renovation, reshaping the former Harveys property into a higher-end resort destination as Caesars Entertainment continues to invest heavily in Northern Nevada’s gaming and hospitality market.
The new phase follows work completed this summer and comes with a higher price tag. What began as a $160million investment has now escalated to $200m.
The renovation will include a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness facility and aligns with Caesars’ wider strategy across both physical casino resorts and its growing presence as one of the best online casinos.
Caesars’ goal is to transform the Stateline property into an alpine retreat rather than a traditional casino hotel. “We’re trying to create an experience that’s much more modern and much more contemporary,” Caesars said.
“It’s about delivering a higher-end experience for our guests, whether they’re coming for leisure or for an event.”
A significant component of this phase is a partnership with Las Vegas–based Clique Hospitality, focused on food and nightlife. This marks Caesars’ first collaboration with Clique at a Northern Nevada property.
From Casino Stopover To Alpine Destination
The resort’s unique location is reflected in an innovative design inspired by Tahoe Tessie, the mythical creature said to inhabit Lake Tahoe.
Tessie’s Cocktails & Chords will feature a full cocktail, beer and wine menu, along with live performances in a dedicated nightlife area.
The venue is projected to open by summer. Tessie’s will join Alto Bar, Bar Centro, Celeste’s and Dueling Pianos as entertainment options at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe.
Caesars says the focus is on giving guests more ways to relax, socialize and extend their stay - rather than simply stopping by for a quick gamble.
Additional amenities are being added to attract a broader audience beyond nightlife.
High Dive Pool, Lounge & Bar will remain open year-round, featuring heated pools along with indoor and outdoor bar and lounge areas.
New premium cabanas and loungers will be introduced poolside, with drink service available throughout the season.

Major Upgrade On The Cards
Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe is also expanding its meeting and event space by 25,000 square feet, allowing for larger corporate gatherings as well as smaller private events such as wedding receptions.
Earlier renovations included updates to the hotel towers - now known as the Remus and Romulus Towers - and a reduction in guest rooms to create larger, more luxurious accommodations.
Improvements were also made to the lobby and multiple areas of the gaming floor.
Stateline began as a small café and gas station with just three slot machines in 1944. It has since expanded into an 88,000-square-foot gaming venue featuring approximately 1,200 slot machines and nearly 100 live table games.
With Phase Two scheduled for completion in summer 2026, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe is positioning itself as a full destination resort - no longer just a stop on the way to the lake, but a reason to stay.
