The pressure is now on, as White Ferns are in must win territory if they want to make the semifinals of the Women’s World Cup. They face England at Eden Park in their next match, with both teams having poor tournaments so far.

This has made them difficult to split with the best cricket betting sites in New Zealand as both sides are 10/11 shots.

New Zealand Lose Thursday Thriller

The New Zealanders’ record now stands at two wins and three losses after going down in a thriller to South Africa on Thursday night in Hamilton.

After winning the toss and batting first, they looked to have got things going their way after passing 160 for the loss of only three wickets in the 35th over.

The innings was anchored by the in form Sophie Devine, who struck 93 off 101 balls and her contribution should have set the White Ferns up for a big score.

However, the tail of the team contributed precious little and the total ended up being a paltry 228 all out in the 48th over.

Not lasting your overs if you choose to bat first is a pretty unforgivable crime in one day international cricket, and it gave the South Africans the confidence to chase down the total.

It did take them to the 50th over and eight wickets to do so, though, with the winning runs coming in thrilling fashion off Frankie McKay’s bowling.
