Karamba has been about since 2005. The company initially started within the gambling industry with their online casino, but on the back of the success as a top casino operator, they decided to expand into sports betting as well.
To power the betting side of things they have enlisted the help of Aspire Global International. The firm is also linked with other betting platforms such as BetRegal, and comes with a wealth of expertise and features, allowing the Karamba brand to go head to head with some of the biggest bookmakers online.
They’ve been able to make great strides over the last few years and this was outlined by scooping their first industry-voted award which came in the form of Best Customer Relationship Management Campaign at the 2019 EGR awards. If you consider that the brand is small compared to most, this is a massive achievement for them and underlines the sites core values.
The welcome bonus at Karamba comes in the form of NZ$10 free bet. Claiming the free bet is super simple. Once you deposit NZ$10 or more and place a bet of NZ$10 or more at minimum odds of 2.00 (evens), you'll qualify for a free bet within 24 hours of the qualifying bet settling.
The offer is only open to those based in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Germany and Canada. You will have 14 days from when the free bet hits your account to when it expires. Free bets must be placed on bets priced at 1.80 or higher and any winnings will not include the free bet.
Any deposits made using Skrill, Neteller or Paysafecard will not be eligible to claim this offer. All in all, it’s about as straightforward a welcome offer as you will find!
KaramBoost is where you can get a boost on any accumulator bet you place on the site. The boost is an increase in winning and it’s triggered by placing an acca of 4 or more picks. The boost starts at 4% for 4 picks and works up to 77% for 15 picks. The max boost winnings paid will be NZ$11,000 and each pick needs to priced at odds of at least 1/5.
At Karamba you’re going to be able to start earning VIP reward points as soon as you land on the site as part of their VIP section. You earn points by placing bets and the more bets you place, the more points you get.
You start life as a “new member” but can work right through the 7 ranks up to Prestige VIP. Rewards include cashback, faster cash out process, account managers, personalised offers, birthday bonuses and VIP corporate days out.

You’re getting a really solid range of both sports and markets at Karamba. We never know what to expect with some of the smaller brands, but we were genuinely impressed with what we saw at Karamba and reckon they could go head to head with many of the bigger brands in the industry.
Like most, football and horse racing play centre stage in terms of depth. But that being said, they have a great range of other sports as well, with tennis, greyhound racing, boxing (and UFC), darts and even e-sports being some of the standouts. With over 25 different sports available, the sportsbook here should have something for everyone.
Betting odds at Karamba are another sector that’s been highly impressive. They ranked well in pretty much all of our tests, but standout sports were that of golf and darts interestingly enough, but with high percentage payouts in relation to the industry standard.
Signing up for your account at Karamba will take just a couple of minutes. It’s one of the fastest registration processes that you will find. You will need to include things like name, address, DOB, telephone and then create a username and password to match as well.
One thing that we did want to note is that when you go to make your deposit you will be greeted with a message about how safe your funds are. The UK Gambling Commission has three tiers that bookies must adhere to from low, medium and high protection.
Karamba has medium protection which means that your money is kept in an account that is separate from company funds. So, if anything did go wrong and the company folded, your money would not be part of any insolvency and that you would get your money back. This is a big tick for us!
To make your deposit, you will need to send in some ID. This will be a passport/driving license plus a utility bill/bank statement for most. It’s very much industry standard now to make sure that the company protects problem gamblers that have been flagged with the GamStop system. This is the second big tick!
It’s worth noting that you only need to send this info in once.
All in all, there’s a good range of banking options on site. They include Visa and MasterCard as your main options, and then PayPal, Neteller, Skrill and Paysafe casinos as some of your other options.
The majority of your deposits will be made instantly, apart from e-Transfer that takes up to 24 hours and bank wires that can take up to 6 days. Deposits start from NZ$10 with each method.
Withdrawals are processed instantly but may take up to 48 hours when pending in your account. You can cancel a withdrawal within the first 48 hours. Then it will depend on which withdrawal method that you use as to how long it will be delivered. It’s worth noting at this point that not all deposit options can be used to withdraw.
When you land on the sportsbook for the first time, if you’ve used several bookmakers in the industry before Karamba, then you will likely feel quite familiar with this layout. They take on a tried and tested three-pronged approach, with the sports down the left, a series of betting markets from numerous upcoming events in the middle and then your betting slip down the right.
The search function that has only recently been installed is a triumph and makes jumping from one sport or market to another a doddle. We love to use it when putting on accumulator bets that we form from the bookmaker, and then just jump in and find our bets with minimal fuss once logged on.
Styling is always subjective and whilst the blue/grey colour scheme isn’t our cup of tea, we know that many do like it. We certainly wouldn’t dock marks for this, put it that way.
There’s no dedicated app for mobile, which is a bit of a shame, but you can access the site in your mobile browser to get what would essentially be an “app” layout anyway.
It looks amazing on mobile and we would say that it’s better here than desktop. The live betting section is sensational, and the match centre works brilliantly well.
If there were one negative here, we would say that it was a bit clumsy at times. It’s almost as if it lags a little, so you do need to be patient. Once you get used to it, it’s fine though.

As a member of C.A.R.E (Customers Are Really Everything), you know that this is going to be one of the strongest parts of the bookmaker. There’s a range of contact details on site as well, available almost around the clock, 7 days a week. Live chat lines are open 6am to 11pm GMT every day, the phone number is listed on site and there's also an on-site email form.
We’ve already touched on several ways that Karambet promoted responsible gambling on site. They have to be one of the more forward-thinking bookmakers and congratulated for that.
There are lots of features for players to make use of as well, including betting limits, time outs, self exclusion, session time limits and autoplay limits on casino.
If you want to know more about their policies, there is a page that’s dedicated exactly to this on-site, which makes for an interesting read.
Karamba has been an impressive sports betting nz site to test. We don’t come into these reviews with any expectations or at least try not to, but we must say that we were pleasantly surprised by what they have managed to achieve so far.
The inclusion of so many features, such as the live betting sections, KaramBot and KaramBoost were brilliant and they add huge depth to the bookmaker as a result.
There were a few niggles, mainly with the functionality of the mobile site, but nothing that can’t be fixed with relatively easy software updates that will no doubt come.
Overall, a bookmaker that is well worth checking out!
