Okay, first we need to get something out of the way. Almost every sports betting site lets Kiwi punters deposit and withdraw in NZ dollars, but that’s not the case for Mr Green. Being a Europe-based website, they seem happy to just work in Euro. So anything you deposit or withdraw will be in Euro, not NZ dollars. One Euro is approximately NZ $0.34. Just to be sure, we checked with their support team, and they confirmed they only accept Euro. It’s not ideal, but it’s how they do it.
Anyway, on to the welcome bonus!
You’re probably not even going to look twice at a sports betting site if they don’t throw a little cheddar your way, and Mr Green Sports knows it! They’re offering you 2x €10 Free Sports Bets plus 100 Casino Free Spins when you bet a minimum of €20. That’s a little bit interesting, as most other sports betting sites have welcome bonuses that are based on your deposit. With Mr Green Sports, it’s based on your first bet.
As always, there are a few terms and conditions to deal with, but we went through the small print to give you the gist of it:

Promotions Available from Mr Green Sports
There are quite a few ongoing promotions happening at Mr Green Sports, however, there’s only one promo that relates to sports betting, and that’s their monthly betting league.
As of writing, every week, Mr Green will give away more than €2,500 in free bets. You enter to win by opting in to the league, and you earn points by placing winning bets of €10 or more with the highest odds possible. Then the top 20 players will split the €2,500+ free bet prize pot, including a 1st place free bet worth €1,000.
The prize split looks like this:

That’s a pretty solid list of options for having a cheeky bet, so we reckon you’ll be hard-pressed to run out of punting options with Mr Green Sports.
Mr Green Sports Betting Features
Given that Mr Green Sports has been around such a long time, we aren’t too surprised that their betting features are pretty impressive. Mr Green Sports has partnered with BettorLogic for their sportsbook data, which is definitely a good thing — Bettorlogic also does the data for the likes of Betway, Betfair, and Paddy Power.
While watching a CONCACAF Champions League game, we could see an on-screen graphic showing the live-action of the game, showing who was in possession, where the ball was, and whatever other action was happening at the time. There were also literally about 30 different types of bet you could make from the in-game page, all with odds that updated live with the action.
There is an Instant Tennis tab that shows all of the tennis games being played right now — click on a game, and you’ll be shown a graphic of the court with the ball being hit blow by blow. It’s pretty mind-blowing how they can update the movement of the ball so quickly — it’s like watching a live-action version of a Pong video game, only you can bet on it. Pretty cool stuff, and definitely worth checking out.
Mr Green Sports also offers Jackpot Bets, which is basically a multi-bet where you pick the winners for a certain number of games. If you win, you get a jackpot anywhere from €5,000 to €1,000,000. You can also cash out as you win along the way as a safety net. Oh, and you can even join a syndicate to pool your resources to win even bigger. Pretty innovative stuff, and we could definitely see this being a lot of fun!
As it usually is for smaller games and smaller leagues, you might not get that much detail. For example at the time of review, we looked at a cricket game between the Queensland Bulls and the New South Wales Blues, and there were no live graphics to be seen. However, there were still a healthy number of betting options on the table, which is pretty good for such a relatively small game. When it comes to the likes of domestic New Zealand games, we could see Mr Green Sports being a great thing to have on your phone while you watch the game on the telly.
For fans of the horses, Mr Green Sports offers options for Australian tracks, but not for New Zealand tracks. That’s not the best, but still better than a lot of other international sports betting sites. Happily though, they do actually have live video streaming of the races, which is pretty unique. The only downside is that to view the live video stream, you have to place a bet first.
The betslip is super easy to find — it’s always down at the bottom right of the screen. Every time you make a bet, it gets added to the betslip. The betslip splits your bets up into 3 tabs — Singles, Combination, and System bets. The only slightly annoying thing is that if you minimise the betslip, it’ll pop back up every time you go to a new page. It would be nice if it just stayed down until you clicked on it.
Cash outs are available, but only on certain bets — you’ll be able to tell if your bet has a cash out option just by looking at your betslip.
In-Play Betting at Mr Green Sports
As we covered above, there are heaps and heaps of options for in-play betting, especially for the bigger sports. Whether it’s watching a tennis ball fly across the court, to knowing who has just been red-carded, you’ll know as it happens.

While we could see live streaming options on the Australian horse racing, we couldn’t find live streaming on any other sports. Still, most sports betting sites don’t have any live streaming options at all, so Mr Green Sports is still ahead of the pack here.

Even though that might look like a long list of things to do, it actually only takes a few minutes to complete the registration process at Mr Green Sports. While they don’t ask you for any form of identification during the registration process, you will have to provide some photo ID when you go to cash out your winnings. They don’t do anything dodgy with your information, they just want to make sure it’s you withdrawing your money, and not someone else. This is completely normal, and we would be concerned if they did require this, as it’s the industry standard for security — in fact, they are required to do this to adhere to the New Zealand gambling laws.

Depositing and Withdrawing at Mr Green Sports
The minimum deposit amount is €10 at Mr Green Sports and the minimum withdrawal is €30 across all payment methods. Payments are processed quickly, with some withdrawal methods taking just up to 24 hours and others between one and three days.
Again, keep in mind that €10 is about NZ € 50. This makes things a bit more expensive for Kiwi punters, but it’s still not as much as some other sports betting sites.
While the minimum deposit is €10, remember if you want to qualify for the welcome bonus, you have to bet €20. When you do go to deposit, there are 6 boxes with dollar amounts ranging from €30 to €450. Mr Green Sports are either being cheeky or hopeful here — you don’t have to deposit those amounts — just enter the exact amount you wish to deposit in the red text box.
Finally, another reminder that when you do go to cash out, Mr Green Sports will ask you for some photo ID. This is completely normal, and is only used for security purposes — they won’t use your ID for anything funny, they just need to prove that it is in fact you withdrawing your money.

Mr Green Sports Desktop Experience
There’s a lot going on at Mr Green Sports — they’ve got an online casino, a live online casino, and then there is the sports betting section. Fortunately they’ve set everything up so that’s it’s all pretty easy to navigate. The main homepage of Mr Green is their online casino, but if you look up the top of the page, you can click on Sports, and be taken to the sports betting section.
From there, on the left of the page is the sports menu where you can check out what games are in action right now, check out live tennis and the jackpot bets, as well as have a look at what is coming up. There is also the option to check available promotions, your bonuses, and your betting history.
Below that on the right of the screen are all of the popular sports and leagues, but you might find those are more relevant to European betters. If you scroll down a bit further, you’ll see all of the sports available.
Up at the top right of the screen is your balance and a plus sign to deposit, as well as any notifications that are ready for you.
It might take you a couple of minutes to get your bearings, but after that, everything is very clear, and you don’t need to venture through multiple pages to find what you are looking for.
Overall Mr Green Sports has a very clean design, and we like that everything can be found on the one page, which means no fluffing around looking for things.

Right… so Mr Green Sports does have a dedicated mobile app, but it’s not exactly straightforward. Let us explain!
Android App
When you visit Mr Green Sports on your Android mobile device, there will be a banner offering you to download the app. First you’ll need to allow third-party applications on your phone, but your phone should guide you through that. After that you should be able to download and use the app. There is no other way to get the app — i.e. you can’t download it from the Google Play Store.
iOS App
We tried to download Mr Green’s iOS app, but Apple told us it was not available in the New Zealand Apple Store.
Honestly, regardless whether you’re on Android or iOS, you’re probably just better off using your device’s web browser. Mr Green Sports’ mobile website is really well optimized, and you’re not missing out on any features by using the website instead of the dedicated app.

Betting Odds at Mr Green Sports
We compared the odds on Mr Green Sports with the TAB and other international sports betting sites, and found them to be pretty competitive. Odds were mostly the same, and if they were different, it was only by five or so cents.
Odds are in decimal format, but if you feel like being a bit adventurous, you can change them to fractional or American at the bottom of the sports page.
