A League Of Their Own Odds: James Corden And Jack Whitehall Set To Return

Sky bosses have confirmed sports quiz show A League of Their Own has just one season left before the programme hangs up its boots.

Romesh Ranganathan will be back to front the 20th series this summer, but the show will end afterwards.

The TV presenter will be joined for the 20th and final series by team captains Jamie Redknapp and Jill Scott, and series regular Micah Richards.

Sky have promised plenty of "laugh-out-loud games, sporting chaos and surprise guests" for the farewell episodes.

That has sparked speculation on betting sites about who some of these "surprise guests" might be.

And it wouldn't be a shock to see some familiar faces from the past 20 seasons return to the programme.

Jack And James Nailed On For Comeback

It seems almost inconceivable that A League of Their Own could bow out without James Corden making an appearance in the last-ever series.

The Gavin & Stacey star fronted the show solo for the first 13 series and he and guest presenters did the job in season 14, before he handed over the permanent reins to Romesh.

During series five to 12, comedian Jack Whitehall was one of the regular panellists on the Sky show, and it would be an absolute travesty if he and James didn't make a comeback in series 20.

James previously described his A League of Their Own role as "the greatest job in the world".

The former host of The Late Late Show said: "When I got offered the show in America, the first thing I said was, ‘I have this show in the UK that I love doing and as long as I’m working in America, I’d love to keep doing this show’.

"It’s an absolute luxury to do something I love and I’m rewarded for. A League of Their Own has been incredible to me."

James is just 1/2 on betting apps to be back on A League of Their Own at some point during the 20th series, and Jack is a 4/7 chance.

Freddie's 'Unforgettable Journey'

The first series of A League of Their Own, which aired in March 2010, saw James host the show alongside team captains Jamie and former England cricket legend Freddie Flintoff.

Three years after Corden departed the programme, Flintoff announced he was leaving the show after 12 years, describing it as an "unforgettable journey".

He said at the time: "I'd like to say a huge thanks to all of you who tuned in over the years and to everyone I have worked with on the show - what an unforgettable journey it's been."

Freddie, James, Jamie and Jack will be remembered by most as the ultimate A League of Their Own team throughout most of the 2010s, and it would feel like a travesty if the trio didn't reunite with Jamie in at least one of the episodes in the last-ever series.

Freddie is 8/13 for a comeback, while John Bishop and Georgie Thompson are 4/5 and 6/4 respectively.

Comedian John and TV presenter Georgie were regular panellists for the first four seasons of the show, and it would be a fitting hark back to ALOTO's early years if they both returned to the Sky series.

Carr To Head Back To ALOTO

Of the guest stars on the show over the years, Jimmy Carr has made the most appearances with more than 20 to his name.

So much so, he's almost become part of the A League of Their Own furniture.

Jimmy is just Evens to return in the final series, a move that would no doubt be welcomed by fans, and fellow comedian Rob Beckett - who has appeared the second most as a guest star - is just 2/1

Other familiar faces who may pop up on the programme again include stand-up comedian Maisie Adam (11/10), former boxer Tony Bellew (5/2) and funnyman Tom Davis (3/1).

Mo Gilligan featured as a regular panellist in the most recent 18th and 19th series, but he wasn't mentioned as a potential returnee in the latest press release about A League of Their Own returning for a final series.

Despite this, The Masked Singer panellist is a 4/1 shot to feature in the show's farewell season, just behind another Mo, Sir Mo Farah, who is 7/2
