Summer is well and truly upon us, but before we know it we will be hunkering down in front of the TV watching celebrities chow down on a kangaroo’s anus and take cover from creepy crawlies.

Ant and Dec will be back on our screens for a new I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! series later this year, and there is a competitive market on betting sites regarding who might take part in the Australian jungle-based show.

Most of this year's celebrities will have been booked up already and ITV are planning even further ahead if latest reports are anything to go by.

Channel bosses are said to be in talks with jungle chiefs about securing the area for the next five years, meaning I'm A Celebrity could be on our screens until at least 2030.

A TV insider told The Sun: "The production team are planning five years in advance, which is a long-term approach they haven’t adopted before.

"But this is not a done deal with the local authorities and the negotiations have just started with officials to secure the site.

"They’re not taking anything for granted but are hopeful all parties involved will be able to reach some kind of agreement."

But, for now, it's all about I'm A Celebrity 2025.

Lineker Leads The Line

Former Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker is the early frontrunner on betting apps to take part in this year's I'm A Celebrity.

The former England striker quit the Premier League highlights show at the end of last season after 26 years in the hot seat - and he recently landed a new role on ITV.

Gary will front brand-new game show The Box.

He recently said of the programme: "I’ve always felt right at home in the box on a football pitch and whilst this is a different proposition, the fundamentals are similar.

"The contestants will have to quickly and masterfully work out how each game works, whilst also trying to get ahead of the competition to take control.

"It’s going to be unpredictable and thrilling to watch, and I’m excited that I get to have a front row seat to all the action."

The I'm A Celebrity jungle is also an unpredictable place, and Gary's shift to ITV has sparked further speculation he could be heading to the jungle before he lands in an ITV studio.

Lineker is the 11/8 favourite to sign up for this year's I'm A Celeb, and he could be joined by fellow former England forward Peter Crouch, who is a 6/1 shot to take part.

Buxton To Make Splash In Jungle?

Comedian Adam Buxton isn't far behind Lineker at 6/4, after admitting he is keen to head Down Under for the show - but worries he is "too old".

He recently told The Guardian newspaper: "I like anything where it's collegiate and you have an experience with people.

"That’s why I always wanted to go into the [I’m A Celebrity] jungle. Now I do get offers to go in there but I think I’m too old. I don’t know if I could hack it physically."

When asked if he would take part for £1million, Adam admitted he would be much cheaper.

He explained: "It’s not about the money, man - it’s about the experience. I’d do it for free if the right people were in there."

Another star who is keen to jet to Oz for the reality TV show is Jools Oliver, wife of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

Last November, Ant and Dec spoke to Jamie on their socials, and while they couldn't convince the cook to swap his juicer for the jungle, he suggested his wife would love a crack at the show.

Speaking in an Instagram video, Jamie said: "Thanks for the offer boys, I would love to come on I’m A Celeb, I think it’s an amazing show, but honestly you couldn’t give me enough olive oil in the world to make me eat a witchetty-grub or a kangaroo’s a**e, no way.

"But what I can give you is my wife Jools, she would love to be on the show. Go on Jools."

Dec then said: "Jools Oliver, first booking for 2025. Thanks Jools, see you in Australia next year."

While it appeared to be a tongue-in-cheek conversation, Jools is just 13/8 to sign up for I'm A Celebrity 2025.

Redgrave Considers I'm A Celebrity

Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave took part in ITV reality show Dancing on Ice earlier this year - and admitted afterwards he would consider signing up for I'm A Celebrity.

He told The Sun: "My agent has been saying for the last three or four years, 'Why don’t you do I’m A Celebrity?'

"We’ll see. My compromise was to do Dancing On Ice - at the moment. But never say never.

"I’m quite a fussy eater so I wouldn’t do well with the limited calories you get. It might be quite good for my figure from that point of view! It’s something I would consider."

Retired rower Redgrave is 2/1 to take part, but admitted he can't envisage enjoying his time in camp. He said: "Survive? Yes. Enjoy it? No."

Others in contention include 5/2 chance Kay Burley, who retired from Sky News in February after 36 years, darts icon Phil Taylor (7/2) and ex-EastEnders star Shona McGarty (4/1).

Former MasterChef host Gregg Wallace, who was recently let go by the BBC after 45 allegations about his behaviour on the BBC show were upheld in a report, is a 5/1 outsider.

However, Gregg has admitted he doesn't want to be involved in TV.

Asked if he'll watch the new series of MasterChef, Gregg told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "No, no, no, no.

"I’m hurt. I don’t want anything to do with telly. I don’t want anything to do with the BBC."

Former Traitors star Harry Clark is an 8/1 outsider to take part in I'm A Celebrity, while Kate Cassidy - the girlfriend of late One Direction singer Liam Payne - is 10/1.
