Real Madrid v Juve Betting Tips: Champions League Leg 2

Real Madrid and Juventus both have hard-earned reputations. They're both impressive teams with legendary histories and they're set to clash again in April for the Champions League Quarter Final Leg 2. The first leg saw a 3-0 win for Los Blancos, a result that had long odds from bookmakers. Heading into the second leg, top football betting sites are gearing up for what many expect to be a much tighter rematch.

Real Madrid Overview

This Spanish powerhouse is one that kids at school have been wanting to play for generations, and when you look at their record in the Champion's League alone it's easy to understand why. They're currently the record holders for winning the tournament, with 12 wins under their belt since the start of the league, and they even won it every year on the trot from 1956 to 1960.

It's also worth noting that two of Real Madrid's championship victories came from beating the Italian side. When it comes to style and tactics, Real Madrid are killers in the box. The majority of their goals scored come from close shots and the majority of their strikes have been on target so far during the tournament.

Their strong midfield delivers accurate mid-range passing and the team tends to create chances through runs as opposed to long plays. Real Madrid also have an ace up their sleeve in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo. Arguably the greatest player of all time, with over 600 goals to his name, he's a serious problem for any opposing defense to handle.

If anyone is going to finish even the slightest chance or exploit a fleeting chink in Juventus's armour, it's going to be Ronaldo. What makes Real Madrid even tougher, though, is the fact they have such a solid team to back him up: they're all strong players who compliment each other well, which makes Ronaldo even more dangerous.

Juventus Overview

The most popular team in Italy, Juventus supporters are well aware of the club's history with Real Madrid in the Champion's League. It's certainly worth keeping in mind that Real Madrid has never actually managed to knock Juventus out of the tournament – the only time the Spanish side has beaten the Black and Whites was in the final.

Like their opponents, they tend to prefer scoring from inside the box using through balls and running plays, and they're just as good as Real Madrid at the midfield game with strong and accurate passing plays.

One area that might let the side down a little, however, is their disciplinary performance. They tend to be a bit rougher at times. This has already cost them Miralem Pjanic and Medhi Benatia for the first leg match due to cards.

While the team doesn't have an equivalent powerhouse to Ronaldo, the team culture is always consistent and no matter who is on the field, you can expect a fluid and exciting form from the Italians. Keep in mind the fact that they've won their home league finals 33 times too. They'll certainly be no pushover for Real Madrid.

Betting Factors and Odds

There are a few things to keep in mind before you place a wager on football, and this match in particular. First, the likelihood of Ronaldo scoring at least one in the net during the match is pretty high, especially given the fact that Real Madrid have a higher scoring percentage than Juventus in the Champion's League so far.

It's also not likely to be a high scoring game, so markets on finals scores could be worth a look – although do keep in mind last year's final saw Real Madrid give Juventus quite the hammering with a 4-1 result. After Real gave the Italian side a similar beating in the first leg, it's not that likely to happen again.

It's unlikely especially as Juventus will most likely want to wipe that particular scorecard from their memory this time around. Until the first leg match has been played, there's a lot up in the air. But given the long and intense rivalry between these two clubs in the Champion's League, this match will be thrilling to watch.
