AFL Betting Tips 2025: Round 7 Best Bets And Betting Trends

For the fourth consecutive week, our AFL best bets blog delivered five out of six correct tips for our fifth winning round of the year.

This time the column returned a profit of 49.5% with even staking to take our running tally for the season to +29%.

There are plenty of potential upsets on the horizon in Round 7 on the best Australian betting sites.

AFL Round 7 Predictions:

Fremantle Vs Adelaide, Friday 8:10pm AEST

Instead of having a crack at the marquee ANZAC Day game, which last year tossed up a dramatic draw despite Collingwood starting favourites by 15.5 points, we’re waiting for the evening game in Perth.

Fremantle have questions to answer after they got jumped by an admittedly impressive, but winless, Melbourne side at the MCG last week.

Their three-point loss to Sydney earlier in the year was already evidence that they can struggle to pull things together in tight contests.

AFL betting sites are expecting another close one when Adelaide, who have a 5-1 record at covering the pre-match line this season, head to Perth neck-and-neck with their hosts.

They’ve also covered the line in five of their last six games outside of South Australia, losing away to the Suns by one point and putting up a score of 161 on Essendon.

Their only other defeat was to the highly-credentialed Cats and they should be super competitive here.

Josh Treacy was a joint-leader on the Coleman Medal leaderboard with Ben King at the start of the round and is understandably a very popular option with punters when it comes to goalkicking markets.

Treacy is on a six-game streak when it comes to kicking three or more goals at the Optus Stadium, so if you’re keen to continue riding this trend, you’ll double your money.

Best Bet: Adelaide +2.5 Vs Fremantle - 1.90 With Picklebet

Player Prop: Josh Treacy 2+ Goals - 2.00 With Betr

St Kilda Vs Brisbane Lions, Saturday 1:20pm AEST

St Kilda are another team who have been difficult to get a grip on this year, winning two out of five games as betting outsiders in addition to an 82-point thrashing of Richmond.

Back at Marvel Stadium, where they were on a five-game winning streak prior to being humbled by a Sam Darcy-less Bulldogs outfit last weekend, they need to stand up and make a statement.

They did that in Round 2 when following up a 63-point loss to Adelaide by upsetting Geelong.

They’re also out to avenge an 85-point loss to the Lions in Round 22 from last year at this venue, but the Lions were in full swing at that point on their way to the Premiership after a 2-5 start to the season.

Chris Fagan’s men have been similarly slow this year, even trailing at half-time in five of their last six games as favourites, including last week when Collingwood jumped them early and didn’t look back.

Fagan admitted during the week he’s worried about their “unsustainable” first halves, so unless he can do something dramatic in the space of a week, the Lions may fail to cover the line for the sixth time this season.

They’ll have to be wary of Mitch Owens who has started the season off in handy if not spectacular form, kicking between two and four goals in four of his five appearances so far.

He therefore presents great value to record two goals on the best betting apps.

Best Bet: St Kilda +14.5 Vs Brisbane - 1.90 With Ladbrokes

Player Prop: Mitch Owens 2+ Goals - 2.30 With Bet365

Carlton Vs Geelong, Sunday 3:20pm AEST

Thumping wins over league minnows North Melbourne and West Coast have taken a bit of pressure off Carlton head coach Michael Voss.

Voss was in a bit of trouble following a 0-4 start to the season, where they were overrun after half-time on all four occasions.

The fact they did the bulk of their scoring after half-time in both wins must be particularly encouraging and they could therefore be capable of a full four-quarter effort against a Geelong side that are still expected to be too classy for them.

Carlton still have to get the better of a genuine finals contender before they can be considered one themselves.

After Geelong won the clutch moments against fellow top-eight sides Adelaide and Hawthorn in the last two rounds, they go in as thoroughly deserving favourites.

Knowing entirely what Carlton are capable of at both their worst and their best, it’s hard to take either side of the line with confidence, nor the 1-39/40+ point margin market, and on that basis, we’ll be taking the more conservative option of Geelong to win.

Our final player bet for the week concerns Carlton rover Adam Cerra, who is an appealing prospect for a 25+ disposals play, having cleared that mark in five of his six games this year (and getting agonisingly close with 23 against Collingwood in the other).

Best Bet: Geelong To Beat Carlton - 1.54 With Bet365

Player Prop: Adam Cerra 25+ Disposals - 1.67 With Unibet
