Professional Experience

Jonathan began his gambling career in the late 1990s as one of the first employees at Betonline, later rebranded as Blue Square, the UK's first online gambling website. He went on to hold senior positions at The Rank Group, PokerStars and Playtech, founded the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour and managed several major live poker tours.

Away from the operator side of the industry, Jonathan has established himself as both a respected gambling journalist and accomplished player. 

He finished runner-up at the 2010 European Masters of Blackjack and, in 2024, won the Global Poker Award for Best Written Content for his investigation into the use of bots in online poker.
