Midnite Names Ex-FanDuel Director To Lead Canada Launch

Midnite has appointed Dale Tang, formerly of FanDuel and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), as general manager of its Canadian business, the UK-facing betting and casino operator confirmed on August 24, 2026.
Tang will lead Midnite's launch and expansion into Canada's sports betting market, marking the operator's first move into the country.
Five Years Building FanDuel Canada
Tang announced the move in a LinkedIn post confirming he had started his new role at Midnite. He spent the past five years at FanDuel, entirely within its Canada-facing business, most recently serving as senior director for commercial, analytics and retention in Canada.
Earlier in his career he held senior strategy roles at OLG and worked as a consultant for professional services firm BDO Canada.
"Five years ago, I had the chance to join FanDuel Canada in its earliest days," Tang wrote. "Along the way, I learned from exceptional leaders and incredible peers – and most importantly, had the chance to build an amazing team I got to work alongside every day."
He called the move "one of the most rewarding chapters" of his career, adding that "the chance to build something new in Canada doesn't come around often, so I'm excited to share that I've joined Midnite to lead its launch into the Canadian market."
Part Of A Wider Expansion Push
The Canada hire follows a run of funding rounds Midnite has used to back its growth plans, reported by NEXT.io. Earlier this year the operator secured about $35 million in Series C funding led by the Raine Group through its Raine Partners IV growth equity fund.
That followed a $100m credit facility arranged last year with House Advantage Fund and PvX Capital, and a $10m Series B round raised in April 2025 to support product development and user acquisition.
After the Series C raise, Midnite said the funds would support operational scaling and product development while preparing the business for international expansion.
The Canada launch forms part of that push. Midnite launched in 2018 as an online sportsbook before adding horse racing and online casino products in 2023.
