FanDuel Goes Live in Alberta's New Regulated Market

FanDuel has expanded its Canadian footprint into Alberta, bringing its online casino and sportsbook to the province's newly regulated market. The Flutter-owned operator, which bills itself as North America's number one casino and sportsbook, confirmed it would go live on July 13, 2026, pending regulatory approval, with players aged 18 and over able to register ahead of launch at FanDuel.ca.
Entry Into a New Regulated Market
Alberta's move to a regulated online gambling market opened the door to licensed operators, and FanDuel is among the first wave to commit. "Alberta represents an exciting new chapter for FanDuel Canada, and we look forward to the opportunity to bring our industry-leading Casino and Sportsbook experience to players across the province," said Dale Hooper, General Manager of FanDuel Canada. The company said it was making long-term investments in local communities and reinforcing its responsible gaming commitments as it entered the market.
Content and Partnership Deals
FanDuel Canada announced an exclusive partnership with Light and Wonder to bring the popular Huff N' Puff slot franchise to Alberta players, pending regulatory approval. The operator also renewed its partnership with the Canadian Football League in a multi-year agreement, expanding the deal beyond Ontario to include Alberta and adding casino as a new category. FanDuel is additionally the title sponsor of the Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament, which supports the Calgary Stampede Foundation and has raised more than $1.3 million to date.
Community Investment
To mark the launch, FanDuel pledged a series of community donations in the province. The company is giving $50,000 to the A Dollar A Day Foundation to support frontline mental health programs, adding to the $150,000 it says it has contributed to the charity across Ontario and Alberta over three years. It is also donating $30,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Management Program in Alberta to help communities prepare for and recover from disasters.
Part of the Flutter Group
FanDuel Group is the premier online gaming company in North America and part of Flutter Entertainment plc, and its portfolio spans FanDuel Sportsbook, FanDuel Casino, FanDuel Racing and the FanDuel TV network. The Alberta move extends its Canadian presence beyond Ontario. Further detail is set out in FanDuel's market announcement.
