GGBET Gets Brand Boost From Ukrainian Basketball Finals
GGBET UA closed out its sponsorship of the Ukrainian 3x3 Basketball Championship this week with the tournament's final stage in Kyiv, the operator said in a statement to SBC News published on August 28, 2026.
GGBET is title sponsor of the championship as part of its wider partnership with the Basketball Federation of Ukraine, which also covers the men's and women's national basketball teams. The 3x3 tournament ran across three months and five Ukrainian regions, with 12 teams competing for a total prize fund of UAH 1m, worth roughly £16,500.
A Season-Long Basketball Investment
"The final turned out to be particularly tense, with the winner decided in overtime," a GGBET UA statement read. "The title shot came down from long range, securing a victory and the season's gold medal."
Beyond the result on court, GGBET UA said it built a fan-facing programme around the final to extend the sports betting brand's reach in Kyiv. "GGBET UA turned the championship final into a true celebration of basketball with a jam-packed entertainment programme for spectators: DJ sets, interactive activities, prize giveaways and a performance by one of the country's most decorated cheerleading squads," the statement said.
Participating teams donated half of their winnings to the Ukrainian armed forces, continuing a pattern seen across GGBET's other domestic sports partnerships since Russia's invasion, where prize money and sponsorship activity have regularly been tied to military and humanitarian causes.
Part Of A Wider Ukrainian Sports Portfolio
The 3x3 sponsorship extends a broader basketball push that GGBET UA began in January 2026, when it became title sponsor of the men's and women's national teams and of the flagship SuperLeague, Ukraine's premier basketball competition since 1992. Dnipro won the SuperLeague's championship series in April 2026, taking the title for a third straight year.
Basketball forms part of a wider sponsorship portfolio GGBET has built across Ukrainian sport and esports through 2026. In July, the operator extended its arrangement with FC Polissya Zhytomyr of the Ukrainian Premier League, describing the aim as bringing "sport closer" to fans through joint projects with the club. "The brand continues to invest in different sports and develop our product to meet the needs of fans, regardless of their sporting preferences," a GGBET spokesperson told SBC News at the time of the Polissya announcement.
The operator also holds sponsorship ties to FC Dynamo Kyiv and ran a nationwide "Keep it GG" advertising campaign fronted by former Premier League forward Andriy Yarmolenko earlier in 2026. In April, GGBET UA and the Basketball Federation of Ukraine held what they described as the first open media event in the SuperLeague's history, a competition that has run continuously since 1992. The event brought clubs, players and organisers together to review the regular season in front of press for the first time in that history.
For a market still operating under wartime conditions, the scale of GGBET's basketball investment points to continued confidence in Ukraine's domestic sports economy even as broader gambling-sector scrutiny continues in the country.
