GGPoker Bans All Third-Party Poker Software After Security Incident

GGPoker has banned all third-party poker software and automation tools from running alongside its client, ending its earlier tolerance of trackers and heads-up displays (HUDs) that did not affect gameplay.
Players of online poker on the network now have to close those programs before launching the game.
The operator announced the change on October 15, 2026, in a blog post outlining five new security measures.
Which Tools Are Banned?
GGPoker named Jurojin, PokerTracker 4, Hand2Note, Holdem Manager 3, StarsCaption, DriveHUD 2, Intuitive Tables, Lobbyze, Equilab and AutoHotkey, and said the list is not exhaustive.
Any other third-party poker software or automation tool is covered too.
The operator said such tools may access game data, interact with tables or automate actions on a player's computer, and that each one handles information in ways it cannot see or control.
It said it previously permitted certain tools that did not affect gameplay but is tightening the policy following the recent incident to reduce the risk of a repeat.
New Client Security Features
A new Client Security section in Game Settings carries four optional features that run only while GGPoker is open.
Screen Guard is designed to keep tables and hole cards out of screenshots, recordings, screen shares and remote-viewing apps, even if screen-sharing or remote-access software is running on the computer.
A "Protect the whole Client" setting extends that to the lobby, cashier and account pages on their online casino site.
Connection Monitor alerts players to apps with suspicious connections such as remote-control tools or proxies, while Allowed Processes lets them mark trusted apps so those do not trigger alerts.
DNS Check looks for signs of DNS hijacking on the player's network.
Win-Rate Anomaly Detection
GGPoker has also added a monitoring method it calls Abnormally High Win-Rate detection.
For each hand, the system reviews every decision and judges whether it was correct based on the cards the opponent actually held.
It looks for players whose decisions are right far more often than any honest playing style allows against cards they should not be able to see.
The operator said it tested the method against past cases and identified them, and that it expects the approach to prevent the kinds of edge cases seen recently.
It sits on top of existing checks for collusion, ghosting, and botting, as well as real-time assistance tools.

Older Systems, Investigation And Player Advice
Support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, and for macOS 11 (Big Sur) or earlier, will end in 2027, with no exact date given.
GGPoker told players to update to at least Windows 10 or macOS 12 (Monterey) to avoid interruptions.
On the incident itself, GGPoker said it traced the funds involved and identified the crypto wallet address linked to it.
It shared the findings with Coinbase, where it believes the funds were deposited, asked the exchange to restrict the account and preserve its records, and reported the wallet to industry networks and law enforcement.
The operator also urged players to keep their systems updated, remove unfamiliar remote-access or screen-sharing tools, run full antivirus scans, and enable two-factor authentication, a passkey, and the Fund password.
