Michigan Online Casino Revenue Surges 25% Year-Over-Year In February
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has released figures for February’s iGaming and online sports betting revenue in the state.
The figures show a 25.4% year-over-year increase in iGaming, to $273.1million, driven by the inclusion of Hard Rock Bet, which launched in December.
iGaming figures were down 8.5% compared to the previous month, but the $286.3m revenue that month was a record for January revenue figures.
However, online sports betting revenue fell back 6.7% compared to 2025.
Operators should see a significant boost in revenue this month, though, thanks to the March Madness betting phenomenon.
Who's Winning the Casino Wars?
Michigan passed iGaming and online sports betting regulations in 2019, with the first sites going live in 2021. Since then, the market has experienced considerable growth.
That growth continued last year, when Hard Rock Bet became the 14th licensed Michigan online casino.
The site opened in December and enjoyed a strong start, generating just over $35m in revenue.
The figure expectedly fell back in January when the Seminole-owned site reported $23m in revenue. In February, this figure was down again, to $20m.
The most recent slide has seen Hard Rock Bet slip from its previous position as the fourth most popular site in the state, down to fifth.
BetRivers, the licensed site of the Little River Band of Ottawa, climbed ahead. BetRivers generated $20.7m of revenue, compared to Hard Rock’s $20.2m and it looks likely the two platforms will continue to vie for position.
MotorCity’s FanDuel retained its position at the top of the pack, having generated $69.3m in revenue. BetMGM and DraftKings rounded out the top three with $63.1m and $33.7m in revenue, respectively.

What's Driving The Numbers?
Adjusted gross receipts for February sports betting totalled $25.4m, down 6.7% compared to last year.
The handle of $384.7m represented a 21.7% decrease from January 2026.
February was a quiet month. Although more than a dozen players with Michigan ties were involved in Super Bowl LX, played on February 11, no local teams featured when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers.
However, sportsbooks will expect a surge in betting activity this month as 68 men’s and women’s college basketball teams compete in the March Madness tournament.
The American Gaming Association (AGA) expects $3.3bn of bets to be placed on the tournament this year, on regulated sportsbooks alone.

And, with Michigan named as one of the tournament favourites, the state can expect a lot of betting action this month.
Ahead of March Madness, the MGCB has updated and expanded its Don’t Regret The Bet responsible gaming website.
It now includes additional tools designed to educate bettors and help them make more informed decisions.
