Mississippi Casino Revenue Climbs to $200.6Million In February

Mississippi has enjoyed a very good start to this year, as the state's casinos saw an increase in revenue in February 2026 compared to the previous year, according to the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
The state's licensed casinos reported total revenue of $200.6million, a 5.8% increase from the preceding year.
All three gaming areas in the state saw broad-based growth. Leading the way, Mississippi’s coastal casinos saw 7.5% growth to $131.6m.
The central region grew by 4.2% to $27.7m, and the northern district also increased by 2.1% to $41.2m.

Slot machines remained the most significant source of revenue, with $167.2m reported for the month (up 4.9% from last year).
Table games contributed $27.1m in revenue and posted a year-over-year gain of 6.8%. Retail sports betting generated an additional $3.5m to the total revenue for the month.
In the coastal region, table game slots increased by 5.3% from $108.8m to $20m.
Northern region slots rose 3% to $33.8m and table games by 5.9% to $5.2m. The central region had mixed results; slots rose 5.6% to $24.6m, but table games fell by 10.3% to $1.9m.
Gambling Changes Afoot In Mississippi
While recent numbers indicate a positive outlook for the Mississippi gaming market, it could soon expand beyond traditional facilities as well.
On this note, Mississippi state lawmakers are considering several pieces of proposed legislation that would allow legal statewide online gambling.
If enacted, casinos with an active gaming license will now have opportunities to partner with internet providers and develop an application for sports wagering throughout the state.
Mississippi allows people to make bets on sporting events through the state’s licensed casinos.
The proposed legislation will change this so that those placing wagers on sports will have the option to do so through an online gambling company that has a contractual agreement with a licensed casino in Mississippi.

Changes are also occurring in gaming regulations. For example, the Mississippi Gaming Commission has approved the final site application for a new gambling facility in Biloxi, which had been planned for 15 years.
This will be the ninth casino to be built in Biloxi and the 13th on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.
As this session of the Mississippi legislature advances, there exists an opportunity for Mississippi to be competitive in the gaming space with possible updates to mobile wagering.
The combination of strong retail gaming results, plus the convenience of online sports betting on digital platforms, will provide the Mississippi gaming industry with an opportunity to compete more effectively with other markets nearby, while also capturing a larger majority of the regional sports wagering market.
