NorthStar Gaming Names Corey Goodman Permanent CEO
NorthStar Gaming Holdings Inc. (TSXV: BET) has appointed Corey Goodman as chief executive officer on a permanent basis, the Ontario iGaming operator announced on August 17, 2026.
Goodman had served as interim CEO since December 8, 2025, following the abrupt resignation of predecessor Michael Moskowitz.
The confirmation comes alongside a shakeup of NorthStar's finance function, with chief financial officer Chin Dhushenthen resigning the same day.
New Finance and Compliance Leadership
Ben Powell, a CFA charterholder who has been with NorthStar since its inception, has been appointed interim CFO effective August 17, 2026.
Powell previously served as vice president of corporate development, a role in which he played a central part in the company's financing and capital-raising activity.
Dhushenthen has agreed to stay on in an advisory capacity to support continuity while NorthStar completes its outstanding audits.
The company separately named Krisztina Kalla as vice president of compliance, responsible for its regulatory compliance function.

Interim Spell Built Around Financial Stabilization
NorthStar's board chair Dean MacDonald said Goodman had "brought focus and discipline to the Company at a pivotal time" during his eight months as interim chief.
"The Board has full confidence in his leadership as NorthStar completes its outstanding financial reporting and continues to strengthen the business," MacDonald said in the company's release.
Goodman had stepped into the interim role on December 8, 2025, taking over day-to-day leadership while the board searched for a long-term successor.
The operator has engaged Davidson & Company LLP to audit its outstanding financial statements for the fiscal years ended December 31, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Davidson plans to complete the three audits concurrently, with NorthStar expecting them to close out later in 2026. The company has also brought in a chartered professional accountant on a consulting basis to support the process.
NorthStar said it will provide further updates on the audit process in due course as the three concurrent audits progress toward completion later in the year.
Leadership Reset Follows February Restructuring
NorthStar operates NorthStarBets.ca, an online casino and sportsbook run under an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario and a registration with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Its technology platform is supplied by Playtech plc, which is also NorthStar's largest shareholder.
The management changes follow job cuts NorthStar confirmed in February as part of a restructuring aimed at reaching profitability in 2026, a shift away from the company's earlier push for rapid expansion. That plan included tighter capital allocation and firmer cost controls, with spending directed only where performance could justify it.
Goodman thanked Dhushenthen for his contributions and said the strengthened finance and compliance functions would "serve the Company well as we move forward." More gambling industry news is tracked as the operator works through its reporting backlog.
