OG Reverse-Sweep BetBoom To Reach BLAST Slam 8 Playoffs

OG eliminated BetBoom Team from BLAST Slam VIII's Group C with a 2-1 reverse sweep in Friday's decider, avenging an opening-round loss to book one of the tournament's eight remaining playoff spots.
A Rematch Settled In Reverse
The two teams first met on September 30, when BetBoom won 2-1 in the group's upper-bracket semi-final.
BetBoom then lost 2-0 to Team Yandex in the winners' match, while OG swept MOUZ 2-0 to set up a second meeting with BetBoom - this time in the Group C decider, with a playoff spot on the line.
BetBoom won the opening game of that decider, but OG took the next two to close out a 2-1 series win, according to match data published on BLAST's own tournament site, eliminating BetBoom from BLAST Slam VIII and sending OG through to the playoffs alongside group winners Team Yandex.
New-Look Rosters On Both Sides
BetBoom fielded an overhauled roster for the event, with Vitalie "Save-" Melnic moving into the mid lane and Georgii "swedenstrong" Zainalabidov and Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek taking on the position-four support and coaching roles, respectively.
OG, meanwhile, fielded a new international lineup headlined by the return of Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen.
What's Next At BLAST Slam VIII
BLAST Slam VIII's group stage wrapped with eight of the original 16 teams advancing to the playoffs, which move to a LAN format in Malta for a $750,000 prize pool, with $270,000 going to the eventual winner.
