Ontario iGaming Market Hits Record Wagers In July

Ontario's regulated online gambling market processed $9.88 billion in cash wagers in July 2026, up 31% on the $7.56bn wagered in July 2025, according to iGaming Ontario's own monthly market performance data, published by the provincial Crown agency on 26 August 2026.
Non-adjusted gross gaming revenue reached $413.6 million for the month, a 33% increase year on year. Active player accounts rose to 1.365m in July, up 44% from 948,000 a year earlier and a 3% increase on June's total.
Average revenue per active player account came in at $303, roughly flat on the previous month. iGaming Ontario, the Crown agency that regulates the market independently of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), publishes this dataset monthly, with each release adding the prior month's figures across every licensed operator with website activity.
Online Casino Still Dominates Volume
Casino products, including online slots, live dealer tables and digital table games, accounted for $8.78bn of July's cash wagers, an 89% share of the market, and $330.4m of revenue, or 80% of the month's total.
Event and sports betting made up the remaining $992m in wagers and $77.8m in revenue, with peer-to-peer poker a small remainder at $116m wagered and $5.3m in revenue.
The July figures extend a growth run iGaming Ontario documented in its own 2024-25 annual report, which showed the market's third full year generating $82.7bn in total wagers and $2.9bn in total gaming revenue, both up more than 30% from the prior year, across roughly 50 active operators and more than 2.6m active player accounts.
Ontario's iGaming market launched on 4 April 2022 and remains the only regulated online gambling framework of its kind in Canada.
What It Means For Bettors
For players, the growth confirms Ontario's regulated market continues to expand at a pace that has made it one of North America's largest.
That's because of iGaming Ontario's own monthly transparency reporting giving bettors and operators alike a clear public read on how online casinos and sports betting sites are performing month to month, broken down by product category rather than headline totals alone.
