Polymarket Adds Self-Exclusion Tools, Partners With Birches Health

Polymarket has launched a suite of user protection tools and partnered with Birches Health to give users access to mental health support for compulsive trading behaviour, the prediction market platform announced on September 30, 2026.

The New York-based company said the measures include voluntary self-exclusion, deposit limits and a new Trust & Safety Centre, alongside an expanded Trust and Safety team overseeing its US and international platforms.

Under the new tools, traders can exclude themselves from Polymarket for periods ranging from 30 days to a lifetime.

US users can also set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits across all funding methods. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately, while raising or removing one requires a cooling-off period.

Birches Health Partnership Targets Compulsive Trading

Polymarket has partnered with Birches Health, which it describes as the largest national provider of behavioural and process addiction treatment, to provide mental health resources for users experiencing compulsive financial trading behaviours.

Birches Health offers virtual care across all 50 US states, including clinical assessments, individualised recovery plans and ongoing treatment, and its resources will be surfaced within the Polymarket product and through customer support interactions.

Polymarket is also developing a co-branded Trading Responsibly guide that will include a four-question self-check to help users assess when it may be time to seek additional support.

New Trust & Safety Center Centralises Platform Rules

The new Trust & Safety Centre brings together information on user protections, market integrity and other safety initiatives across Polymarket's US and international platforms, including community guidelines and content moderation standards covering market comments, chat, Squads, profiles and the Polymarket Discord.

Malea Otranto, global head of trust and safety at Polymarket, said: "People should be able to set their own limits, step away on their own terms, and know what the rules are. That is what launched today, and it is the floor, not the ceiling. We're excited to continue to build out from here."

Why It Matters

The announcement comes as prediction market operators face growing pressure over how they treat users compared with licensed betting sites, which already offer deposit limits and self-exclusion as standard.

Polymarket's move gives it a comparable set of consumer tools and a named clinical partner, though the company has not said whether the protections will be mandatory for any user category or how it will measure their effect on trading behaviour.

Polymarket's release did not set out a timeline for rolling the tools out to all users, nor did it say whether self-exclusion and deposit limits will be opt-in features users must actively find and set, or prompts the platform will surface proactively.

The company said only that additional resources tied to the Trust & Safety Centre will be added over time, alongside the planned co-branded guide with Birches Health.

The Birches Health partnership is separate from Polymarket's existing market integrity and moderation systems.

The new deal is aimed instead at giving individual users a direct route to treatment once they, or the platform's support team, identify a potential problem with their own trading behaviour, rather than at detecting market manipulation.
