Riot Opens 600 Free Slots For VALORANT Champions Watch Party

Riot Games opened 600 free places for a public screening of the VALORANT Champions Shanghai Grand Final in Malaysia, as part of a new community programme called VALORANT Celebration Month.

The watch party took place on October 18, 2026, at Fang Kong in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

Entry was free but required registration. According to Malaysian tech site Pokde.Net, registration opened on October 13 and doors opened at 11:30am local time, with the screening running until the end of the Grand Final broadcast.

What Riot Promised Fans

Riot said the event would use a larger hall, a bigger screen and enhanced sound compared with previous watch parties.

It also promised an expanded food selection and merchandise giveaways for attendees.

Fang Kong was listed under Selangor, Malaysia, in Riot's own VALORANT Champions 2026 watch party guide, published on October 12, which compiled screenings hosted by regional Riot teams and community venues across APAC, EMEA, and other regions.

Demand was strong. Esports.gg reported that more than 400 places were booked within the first 24 hours of registration, and that all 600-plus seats were taken by the local community.

The same report said LOUD beat Team Vitality 3-1 in the Grand Final that the crowd watched.

VALORANT Celebration Month

The screening is the opening event of VALORANT Celebration Month, a Riot initiative aimed at the Malaysian community.

Two further events under the banner will be announced later, and no details have been given yet.

Malaysia has hosted official VALORANT gatherings before.

Riot organised four official watch parties in the country in 2022, during the early days of the VALORANT Champions Tour, and in 2026 it ran two more in collaboration with Paper Rex, the Southeast Asian team that had already been knocked out of the title race by the time of the final.

A Global Network Of Screenings

Malaysia was one of many locations on Riot's list.

The APAC section alone included venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Jaipur, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok and Hanoi, plus select Haidilao restaurant branches in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

The EMEA section featured venues such as Cinesia in Murcia, Spain and Garage PC Cafe in Ankara, Türkiye.

Riot said the list was not exhaustive and invited fans to host their own events, which it would add to a 2027 list.

The Competitive Backdrop

The final was the climax of the 2026 world championship season. LOUD had added an analyst before the event, a move we covered in our report on its analyst signing ahead of VALORANT Champions Shanghai.

Events like this show how much of VALORANT's audience is built both offline and on stream.

Free community screenings give Riot a way to turn casual viewers into regulars in a growth market, and the two further Celebration Month events should show how far the company plans to take the programme.
