Tennis Player Stefan Milicevic Banned 24 Years Over Fixing

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has suspended Serbian player Stefan Milicevic for 24 years and fined him $70,000 for serious breaches of tennis's anti-corruption rules. The agency announced the sanction on 15 October.
Milicevic, 29, reached a career-high singles ranking of 1338 in August 2014. His suspension runs until October 8, 2050.
What The ITIA Found
The ITIA says Milicevic was charged with fixing six matches, five of them ones in which he competed, and with attempting to fix a further six matches between 2022 and 2024.
He was also charged with recruiting, or attempting to recruit, several professional players into a corrupt network during the same period, which resulted in other players fixing matches.
Tennis remains one of the more popular sports on betting sites, with so many markets available for the grand slam events and tour tournaments too.

How The Case Unfolded
The ITIA opened its investigation in 2026. Milicevic did not engage with or co-operate with it, despite seven separate attempts by the agency to get a response through multiple channels.
On September 24, when the investigation was complete, he was issued with a Notice of Major Offense.
He did not respond, and under the ITIA's rules and sanctioning guidelines the deemed sanction of 24 years' ineligibility and a $70,000 fine took effect on 9 October 2026.
What The Ban Means
While suspended, Milicevic cannot play in, coach at or attend any event organised or sanctioned by World Tennis, the WTA, the ATP, the Grand Slams or any national association.
Integrity monitoring is central to a safe betting market, and the ITIA's ability to act without the player's cooperation shows how its sanctioning process works.
