Premier League Predictions Gameweek 23 - Brian McClair On The Panel

Brian McClair's Premier League Picks

Throughout the season, Manchester United and Celtic legend Brian McClair will be giving his predictions for every Premier League game.

In four seasons at Celtic, McClair made 471 appearances in all competitions and scored 127 goals, securing the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA Cup while finishing as top-scorer for the Hoops on four occasions.

His prolific goalscoring record quickly attracted the attention of clubs south of the border and in 1987, McClair became Alex Ferguson's first signing at Manchester United, going on to win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.

Brian joins The Panel for the 2024/25 Premier League season and will pass expert judgement with his score predictions on all games whilst The Panel team will examine the best football betting sites to find the best odds should his predictions hit the back of the net.

Watch him discuss the games below and keep an eye on how Brian and The Panel get on each week throughout the season.

Man City Vs Chelsea, Saturday 5.30pm

Chelsea head to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday with just two points separating the sides.

Enzo Maresca’s team ended their five-match winless league run on Monday with a 3-1 home victory against Wolves to move back into the top four.

The Blues leapfrogged City but now face the reigning champions whose Champions League campaign is hanging by a thread after their defeat to PSG in midweek.

Pep Guardiola’s side thrashed Ipswich Town 6-0 last weekend and were unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions before that crushing 4-2 loss in Paris.

Brian says: “Even when they’ve been in bad form, City have still there or thereabouts, and I think they are still in the hunt.

“There are plenty of examples in Premier League history of teams coming from behind and City are showing signs of improvement.

“They will have their eyes on a Champions League spot, but when you win things, and are used to winning things, they will still have their sights set on winning the league and I can see a home victory here.”

Fulham Vs Man Utd, Sunday, 7pm

Manchester United will look to bounce back from their home defeat against Brighton when they visit Fulham for a rare Sunday evening fixture.

United head coach Ruben Amorim was damning after watching his side lose 3-1 to the Seagulls, suggesting this was the worst team in the history of the club.

After the dramatic late comeback to beat Southampton, United fans would have been hoping for back-to-back win, but it was another frustrating day.

Fulham saw off struggling Leicester 2-0 at the King Power Stadium in their last Premier League outing last weekend.

Emile Smith Rowe and Adama Traore scored the goals for the Cottagers as they ended the weekend in 10th place, seven points ahead of United.

Brian says: “It’s six home defeats in 12 for United, the first time that’s happened since the 1893/94 campaign and their points tally at this stage is their worst in Premier League history.

“United are playing well against teams they’re not expected to beat, but not finding a way past teams they are expected to do well against.

“I thought they were annihilated against bottom team Southampton last week before coming back to wins, but probably against all probability, I’m going for an away win here!”

Brian McClair's Panel Pick 2: Fulham 1-2 Man Utd - 8.50 with Betovo
