BAFTA Film Awards 2026 Odds: Hamnet Challenging One Battle After Another

One Battle After Another has been a huge success story in this year's awards season, and it looks set for more victories at the upcoming BAFTA Film Awards.

The action thriller leads the nominations with 14 nods, and some of those are likely to turn into prizes if the film's odds on betting sites are anything to go by.

Sinners dominated this year's Oscars nominations with 16, but it looks set to miss out on big wins at the Academy Awards ceremony - and it could be a similar story at this year's BAFTAs.

Hamnet and Marty Supreme both have a respectable 11 nominations ahead of the spectacle, which will take place at London's Royal Festival Hall on February 22, but who will win the main prize?

One Battle's Hamnet Clash

One Battle After Another has already scooped the top film prizes at the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards, and the movie is odds-on favourite with most betting apps to be Best Picture at this year's Oscars.

But the flick faces a huge test against one of its toughest opponents at this year's BAFTA Film Awards.

Hamnet is very much a double-figure outsider to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards, but it could outdo One Battle After Another in their upcoming Best Film clash at the BAFTAs.

One Battle is 8/11 favourite to land the prize, but Hamnet won't go down without a fight.

Director Chloe Zhao's movie, which has attracted huge praise for leading lady Jessie Buckley, is just 5/4 with Bet365 to take home the coveted gong.

If Hamnet is going to overcome One Battle After Another this awards season, the BAFTAs look to be its best hope.

Hamnet already secured victory over Sinners in the Best Motion Picture - Drama category at this year's Globes, but the horror movie is 16/1 to win Best Film at the BAFTAs.

The three films will also be hoping for individual success in the Best Director market, but the winner of that fight looks to have been all but decided.

One Battle After Another helmer Paul Thomas Anderson is a best priced 1/10 to clinch the filmmaker award.

Hamnet's Zhao is 11/1 second favourite, followed by Sinners director Ryan Coogler (16/1).

Buckley To Defeat Byrne Again?

If you thought Anderson was nailed on to win Best Director, then Hamnet's Buckley is an even bigger certainty to win Best Actress, according to the prices.

Following on from her Golden Globes and Critics' Choice glory earlier this year, Buckley - who is odds-on to win her first Best Actress Oscar this year - is a best priced 1/25 to win a Best Actress BAFTA, and she is as big as 1/40 with some UK bookmakers.

If I Had Legs I'd Kick You actress Rose Byrne must be seeing Buckley in her nightmares right now.

She has been the second favourite to Buckley at several ceremonies and may have missed out on a string of awards because of the Hamnet star.

It looks set to be a similar story at this year's BAFTAs, with Byrne currently priced at 12/1

Someone who can sympathise with Byrne during this year's awards season is Leonardo DiCaprio, who has suffered a similar fate in several Best Actor categories.

One Battle After Another's leading man has been defeated by Timothee Chalamet at the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice already this year, and Chalamet is odds-on to complete a quadruple by winning Best Actor at the BAFTAs and Oscars.

Ahead of the BAFTA Film Awards, Chalamet is 4/11 favourite with William Hill to scoop the main actor accolade, with DiCaprio a 7/1 joint-second favourite alongside I Swear's Robert Aramayo.

Aramayo is as short as 9/2 with some bookmakers, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he went off second favourite on the eve of the ceremony.

Sentimental Value's Double Success?

While the Best Actor and Best Actress categories look set to run to form, there could be a surprise when the Supporting Actress accolade is handed out at this year's BAFTA Film Awards.

Teyana Taylor wowed in One Battle After Another, and she has, rightly so, dominated the category in Hollywood.

However, she could find one better at the BAFTA Film Awards.

Sentimental Value's Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas is 5/4 favourite with Ladbrokes to scoop the gong, followed by Taylor, who is a best priced 7/4

Sinners star Wunmi Mosaku (9/2) could also spring a surprise in the category.

Sentimental Value could be celebrating a double success when the Supporting Actor and Actress victors are announced, because Stellan Skarsgard is 2/5 favourite to land the actor prize.

Hamnet's Paul Mescal was a surprising omission from the Academy Awards nominations for Best Supporting Actor, but he is joint-second favourite to land the gong at this year's BAFTAs.

Mescal is an 8/1 chance, the same price as One Battle After Another's Benicio del Toro.

Del Toro's co-star Sean Penn can be backed at 9/1, but is as short as 6/1 elsewhere.

Elsewhere, Jacob Elordi is just 9/1 in places for Frankenstein, but a massive 20/1 with William Hill.

He might have better luck with Wuthering Heights at next year's awards.
