Bruno Fernandes Next Club Odds: United Captain Tipped To Make Saudi Switch

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is reportedly considering a significant move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Football betting sites have made a switch to any Saudi club the most likely outcome, with Al-Hilal favourites to sign the United skipper.

According to multiple reports, Fernandes' agent, Miguel Pinho, recently held productive talks in Riyadh with Al-Hilal, who are ready to offer the 30-year-old a lucrative deal.

It's believed the contract could be worth up to £200 million including bonuses, with Fernandes earning £700,000 per week

Al-Hilal are keen to secure a deal quickly so they have United's skipper on board before the Club World Cup commences on June 14.

United's failure to qualify for the Champions League has intensified financial pressures at Old Trafford, and the substantial transfer fee might just be too good to turn down.

Brian McClair, who was Alex Ferguson's first signing at Old Trafford, believes United would benefit greatly if they sold Fernandes.

McClair: Every Player Has A Price

In an exclusive interview with Gambling.com, United legend McClair said of a potential departure for Fernandes:

"Everybody's got a price, that's the thing. It would be dependent on whether the player says he wants to go.

"Once they’ve made that decision, it depends on if you're getting what you think is a good price for him and who you're thinking of recruiting or bringing through from the academy - who might at some point be as productive as he is.

"[Ruben] Amorim has publicly said that he wants him to stay, and the majority of chances that Manchester United have created are by him.

"He has scored a number of important goals also."

Is Fernandes ready to turn his back on European football? We look at the clubs he could join this summer.

Saudi Switch A Possibility

Saudi Arabia’s top clubs will continue to splash the cash as they attempt to attract more and more superstars to the Gulf.

Fernandes is one player they no doubt have on their wish list, and United would probably be more open to selling their star man to a non-European team.

According to betting apps, it's 5/4 for a transfer to the Pro League, where his Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo has spent the last couple of seasons.

Fernandes may feel he is not ready to step down and the Portugal international still has plenty to offer at the highest level of European football.

Good Kompany Awaits At Bayern

Fernandes will feel he deserves to be playing in Europe, and in the Champions League in particular.

Bayern Munich won their 12th Bundesliga title in 13 seasons and they will hope to go further than the quarter-final stage, where they were beaten by Inter this season.

Vincent Kompany will be given money to spend in the summer and Fernandes would improve the midfield department that includes Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.

Fernandes is 16/1 to join the German champions, where he would team up with prolific striker Harry Kane.

Real Madrid Eye Summer Signings

Xabi Alonso will want to put his own stamp on the Real Madrid team now that he has been named as Carlo Ancelotti's replacement

Alonso usually plays a 3-4-3 and is expected to do so at the Bernabeu, and Fernandes has shown this season that he can play in that system.

However, Madrid have made a conscious effort to sign younger players in recent seasons, so the 30-year-old Fernandes might have missed the opportunity to join the Spanish giants.

He is priced at 22/1 to be part of Alonso's new-look Madrid team next season.

Champions League Finalists Could Make A Move

Paris Saint-Germain and Inter are both preparing for Saturday's Champions League final.

Whatever happens in Munich, both clubs will be keen to add new talent to their squads and they will be monitoring Fernandes' situation.

Joining the European champions would be the ideal move for the midfielder, who is 33/1 to join either Inter or PSG.

Barcelona Looking To Take Next Step

Barcelona (50/1) have won a domestic double in Hansi Flick’s debut campaign at the helm, but they fell short in the Champions League.

The main objective in 2025/26 will be to land Europe's biggest prize for the sixth time.

Fernandes would be a canny addition to support that aim.

He is technically good enough to play for Barcelona and would bring additional experience to a relatively young group of players, that includes teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.

A return to Sporting CP, where United signed him from in January 2020, cannot be ruled out while a move to the MLS is a possibility. Both moves are 40/1.
