Bryan Mbeumo Next Club Odds: United Favourites Despite Spurs Interest

Bryan Mbeumo enjoyed another impressive season with Brentford in the Premier League and it appears to be a two-horse race for his signature during the summer transfer window, according to UK betting sites.

Manchester United are the odds-on favourites to sign the Cameroon international, but Thomas Frank's appointment as Tottenham manager has muddied the waters.

Mbeumo spent the first few years of his Brentford career in Ivan Toney’s shadow, but he has taken centre stage since the England international’s move to Saudi Arabia last summer.

The 25-year-old forward bagged 20 goals and eight assists last season, gaining even more admiring glances from clubs higher up the food chain as a result.

He has shown loyalty to the club since joining from Troyes in 2019, but this could be the summer that the powerful forward finally makes a move.

His wage demands have frightened off some clubs, so where will Mbeumo end up if he leaves the Gtech Community Stadium?

Let’s take a look at the latest odds.

United Willing To Pay Salary Demands

Brentford may have finished above Manchester United in the league table, but the Old Trafford club are the bigger of the two.

Chances to join a club as big as United don't come around too often, and Mbeumo might just fancy a move there to work with Ruben Amorim.

United have struggled for goals for the last couple of seasons, and Mbeumo would become a Stretford End hero if he could improve the club's fortunes on the pitch.

With Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund facing exits, signing Mbeumo could provide the attacking spark needed at Old Trafford.

United reportedly made a £45m bid, plus £10m in add-ons, for the forward earlier in June, which is thought to fall below Brentford's valuation.

Nevertheless, United are likely to make an improved offer and are 4/9 to sign the Bees star.

Frank Move Could Spark Spurs Switch

Tottenham have reportedly held early discussions with Brentford about signing Mbeumo and have been cut from 14/1 to 7/4 with Bet365 to sign the former Troyes attacker.

Talks started almost as soon as Frank ended his seven-year spell as the Bees manager to replace Ange Postecoglou at Spurs.

The prospect of linking up with the Dane is surely tempting for Mbeumo, who would also be guaranteed Champions League football next season.

He will be keen to challenge himself against Europe's elite and would certainly fit into the team's gung-ho style of football.

Newcastle Adrift Of United And Spurs

The 2024/25 season will go down as one of the best in the history of Newcastle.

Their Carabao Cup win ended 70 years of domestic hurt for the Toon Army, and after also achieving Champions League qualification, Eddie Howe's side are getting better and better.

They have been watching Mbeumo closely over the past few seasons, and with a right-sided forward being a position they are looking to strengthen in, the Brentford frontman certainly fits the bill.

Newcastle have been reluctant to spend big in recent transfer windows, but this summer could be different, particularly with Champions League football coming to Tyneside again.

Mbeumo's wage demands are likely to be too high for the Magpies, however, and they are unlikely to make him their highest earner.

The Magpies were 11/4 on football betting sites to persuade Mbeumo to move to the north east, but those odds have lengthened dramatically to 25/1 as Tottenham and United fight for his signature.

Arsenal In Need Of Attacker

Mbeumo has been at Brentford since 2019 and is presumably settled in London, so the chance to join a club like Arsenal would no doubt appeal to him.

Bukayo Saka, who has struggled with injuries this season, is a guaranteed starter on the right for Arsenal, but Mbeumo can play centrally too.

Mbeumo would provide some of the guile that the Gunners have sometimes lacked, while his link play is also impressive.

Arsenal had been 5/2 favourites to land the France-born forward at one stage, but have now drifted to 25/1.

Chelsea Likely To Keep Spending

Chelsea have not been shy about spending under their current ownership group, and there is no reason to expect that policy to change anytime soon.

Enzo Maresca has trimmed down the bloated squad he inherited, but the Italian will no doubt want to shape his team a little more to his liking in the summer.

We do not know if Chelsea are interested in Mbeumo, but it is hard to imagine them sitting out the race for any player they admire.

The Brentford man is priced at 33/1 to end up at his current employers’ west London rivals.

Champions Out Of The Equation

Fresh from winning their 20th league title, Liverpool have already begun their plans for next season by agreeing a British transfer record fee of £116.5m for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz.

Mo Salah has also signed a new contract to the delight of fans, but given how reliant they are on the Egyptian, if injury were to hit, they may be found wanting in front of goal.

This is where a player like Mbeumo could fit in.

The Cameroonian plays in the same position as Salah, but he may not want to play second fiddle, even if it is at the home of the champions, who are 40/1 on betting apps to bring him to Anfield.

Guardiola May Be Tempted

Compared to Manchester City's recent standards, last season was a big disappointment.

Guardiola's side have become stale which prompted the club to spend big in the mini transfer window ahead of the Club World Cup.

There could be more signings in the summer, but will Mbeumo be part of the shake-up?

He is priced at 50/1 to make the move to the blue side of Manchester.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain are priced at 40/1 to bring Mbeumo to the country of his birth, while Nottingham Forest (66/1) now look to be out of the picture.

He can be backed at 33/1 to join any Saudi team in the summer.
