Both Teams To Score Tips: Check Out The Panel's Near-12/1 Acca For Saturday

The Championship is back and two of the games from the second tier have been included in Saturday’s both teams to score tips.

The Panel hit the crossbar on the opening weekend of the Football League season when Crawley’s failure to score at Grimsby scuppered a near-9/1 four-fold acca.

It was an encouraging start, though, and hopefully The Panel can go one better with this weekend’s BTTS acca which would pay out almost 12/1 on betting sites.

BTTS Tips: Norwich Vs Millwall

Norwich dominated last season’s both teams to score table, especially at home where their record was a whopping 78%, the joint highest alongside relegated Plymouth.

Millwall, on the other hand, scored and conceded on average a paltry goal per game, but they were close to 50% away from home.

Even more encouraging was that both of last season’s meetings involved goals at both ends, with the Canaries winning this fixture 2-1 on Boxing Day and the Lions gaining revenge in a 3-1 victory in April.

Although the south Londoners have lacked firepower in the last couple of years, they have been banging in the goals during pre-season which they concluded with a 3-0 win against Estoril, a team that finished in the top half of the Portuguese Liga in the 2024/25 campaign.

Millwall could prove to be more expansive this season under manager Alex Neil and their trip to Carrow Road kicks off Saturday’s BTTS predictions at 10/11 on football betting sites.

The Panel's Saturday BTTS Predictions: August 9

Both Teams To Score Acca: QPR Vs Preston

Preston squeezed inside the top half of the Championship table, but, like Millwall, were one of the lowest scorers in the division with just 45 goals.

However, both games against QPR ended in 2-1 wins for the west Londoners, who start the new season with a new manager at the helm following Marti Cifuentes’ acrimonious departure.

Former Rennes coach Julien Stephan has been tasked with resurrecting the Rs’ fortunes and he was impressed by his side’s 2-2 draw against Dutch top-flight club Heerenveen which he described as their “best performance of pre-season”.

QPR and Preston were inside the top three of the Championship’s both teams to score table last season and hopefully they can find the net this weekend.

The Lilywhites have struggled in front of goal this summer, but they scored against a strong Liverpool outfit and they get the nod at Evens with Betfred.

BTTS Predictions: Barnsley Vs Burton

Barnsley burst out of the blocks in League One with a 3-1 victory at Plymouth despite having Jack Shepherd sent off in the 63rd minute.

The scoreline was hard luck on the Pilgrims, who conceded their first two goals against the run of play and peppered the Tykes goal with 15 shots, three of which were on target.

Burton also got off to a winning start, but they were also slightly fortunate to eke out a 2-1 victory over Mansfield, whose expected goals (xG) tally was almost double their hosts and they had four big chances compared with the Brewers’ zero.

On the negative side, Albion have failed to score at Oakwell in the last three seasons, but Barnsley ticked the BTTS box in 70% of their games in the 2024/25 campaign, equally shared across their home and away fixtures.

The Panel are taking a risk here, but at 17/20 with betting apps, this match is the third leg of their BTTS tips.

BTTS Acca: Harrogate Vs Grimsby

Harrogate and Grimsby both picked up three points from last weekend’s opening round of League Two fixtures and although they kept clean sheets, The Panel are expecting all that to change in North Yorkshire.

Only three teams had a better both teams to score record than the Mariners in the 2024/25 campaign and there were goals aplenty when these teams met.

Grimsby won the first match 2-1 on Boxing Day and the teams shared a 2-2 draw at Wetherby Road four months later.

The Sulphurites have never failed to score at home in all four League Two encounters with Grimsby, who could have beaten Crawley by a greater three-goal margin last weekend.

Harrogate created plenty of chances in their 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers and hopefully that will be the case against Grimsby which is 17/20 for goals at both ends.

* An acca on Saturday's BTTS tips is priced at almost 12/1 with Coral.
